  1. Froze on a question - I don't think I even answered it. Stumbled and rambled on in others.
  2. I had an interview for CVICU today but performed very poorly. I am bad interviewee, but I think I perform well in the clinical setting and my resume isn't bad. The NM told me to call him if I hadn't heard from a recruiter within two weeks. Is this neutral in nature or do I have some hope?
  3. Dang, I might end up like your friend. I really want to go to the local program here, but I'll throw out apps elsewhere I guess.
  4. What the title says. How many times were you rejected or how many years did it take for you to get in? Currently one year deep into ICU as an MSICU RN, but looking to go to either trauma or CTVICU for 2-3 years. Which brings me to my second topic, which setting would I best prepare me for an anesthesia program? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thank you very much for your response, Marie!
  6. Applied to a sick gig as a trauma ICU RN. Had the interview, but I don't think I did well. I checked the application when I got back home and it said it was declined already, although the application for the current job I have also said I was rejected. I really want this job and planning to reapply starting January once an opening comes up. That being said, has anyone ever reapplied to the same position? How awkward was it with the hiring manager? Edit: I had my interview last Monday, although we did have the hurricane that came in Wednesday to Friday.
  7. I just passed today. Exactly what the previous poster said I only got one question on murmurs. It asked me where it was located.
  8. Passed the test today, but holy crap. Like CCRNdude said, difficult but doable.
  9. And I know Vonfrolio has been proven to be helpful time and time again, but how does/did she know what questions are on the test? Just curious.
  10. How hard did you guys think it was?
  11. Thank you. I love you all.
  12. Just checking to see if the Pass CCRN or Vonfrolio's review are still relevant to the questions on the CCRN. Thanks in advance.
  13. HR does screen the apps and they were forwarded to her. My buddy was able to maintain contact with her very easily via email and had no problem scheduling the interview. It seems like a luck of the draw kind of deal, but I don't want to sit idle when I could possibly score a job there.
  14. I heard that she's someone you have to stay on top of. I'm just really anxious about being able to score an interview with her.
  15. I read elsewhere on the forum that trying to show up on the unit to meet the manager was considered rude. My buddy who took the last position was able to schedule an interview almost instantly with her. I really want this position but I'm at the point where I feel like I'm annoying her.
  16. I've finally completed my first year of nursing on a progressive unit and looking to apply to an ICU. I really want to become a CVICU RN. I applied once to the unit and emailed the manager saying I was interested, but she told me her positions were already filled. I applied again for the second time when another position became available, emailed her and said I was still interested. She told me that she had positions available and I reaffirmed that I was still interested, but haven't received a response yet. It has been two business days since I sent the email. Would a third email be overbearing?
  17. I told you to prepare yourself for the rage. You done messed up, Jaquada.
  18. Boy oh boy. This is gonna be good. Can't wait to see the raging comments in this one. Cooking popcorn right now as we speak.
  19. So I declined the MS PCU offer. I just found out neuro PCU is interested in someone else and the interview with the neuro ICU manager was a discussion on getting a year's worth of experience then getting hired on. It's back to searching again! I love you all! :-)
  20. Calling the nurse recruiter tomorrow. "Hey, this is so and so. I received an offer from so and so and I am still interested, however I have an interview later today for unit so and so. A deadline for a decision was never discussed during the interview, so when would an appropriate deadline to give my decision be for unit so and so?" How does that sound? Any suggestions for said response?
  21. Ok hahaha. Should I call the neuro PCU manager tomorrow and ask where they are at in regards to the interviews and/or ask the recruiter how long I have until I have to make a decision? He's the one that gave me the news that I was offered a position.
  22. They're the same hospital, different units. So what would you do in my position? Take the M/S PCU job and drop the potential positions for neuro PCU and neuro ICU, or wait for the neuro decisions and risk losing the standing offer for M/S PCU?
  23. Exactly. That's why I stated it wouldn't make any sense, but it sounds like that's what I may need to do if I don't have a decision from the neuro PCU or ICU soon, which is what I'd rather have, unless you have other suggestions that may help in this situation. Would it be polite to mention to the neuro PCU that I have a standing offer and that I need to know what the appropriate course of action should be?
  24. Ok, then. What should I do? Turn down the M/S PCU and hope to get an offer from the ICU? Doesn't make sense.
