  1. I loved College Station, I was there for four... wait... five years while I was in school at Texas A&M. Would move back in a heart beat, my favorite place in TX.
  2. Thats crap. You shouldn't have to put up with tactics like that.
  3. pm me your email addy.
  4. I have really enjoyed working Maxim offices in the past, both Ft. Worth and Dallas are great to work for.
  5. me too, I will take 33 straight days over 100 like we had about 4 years ago (we topped at 117) over 10 days of sub 40 weather.
  6. You can pretty much find any climate you like in TX, that is the nice thing. I have lived here all my life and absolutely love it. The poster about the basement is right though, you won't find many, goodluck getting one built. Most watertables in TX are relatively near the surface, especially the farther east you go. I am currently in Ft. Worth and love it. LIke the size, atmosphere, Bass Hall. Tx has something for everyone.

Absolutely true S4, and by local office I meant a local staffing office, not neccessarily one who deals with travel, but at least a presence in the area. And yes, being able to reach someone 24hours a day is a must, and it must be a real person.

Travel nursing is almost exclusively RNs and Allied health personel as well. A good travel company will probably also have a local office for you to work out of. At least one close so you have someone to contact in an emergency.
  9. I know Maxim had about 600 needs listed on their website when I last checked. They have a whole division devoted to setting up travel nurses. PM me if you have any questions.
  10. No offense BPBarb, but you sound like you work for a poorly run agency. It isn't good practice to burn your nurses out sometimes even the best workers need time off. And when they cancel you, they should be busting their but to find you somewhere else to work. If they aren't you might look for work elsewhere.
  11. Most Hospitals are going to require at least 1 year of hospital experience to work there through agency. The agency I work for has a facility that requires at least two and has some LT acute/rehab/pysch facilities that don't require any. If you are looking to work hospitals it will be tough through agency, but agency is a great way to make extra money on the side. Most agencies will work with you on what you want and what times you want. If they don't, then dump them. Be wary, there are lots of good Agencies out there but there are also some that are very shady.
