  1. You are right, but it does look good when you have a nurses from various educational facilities. I was told by UCH management that they hire about 50% out of state BSN prepared new grads.
  2. Does anyone know how much Healthone facilities pay PRN nurses? Specifically Swedish and P/SL.
  3. I found a new grad job after 10 months of looking at SCL Health. They start new grads with a BSN at a little over $25/hour. As an out of state application you best bet is University of Colorado hospital since they hire the most of out state BSN applicants since it helps their magnet status. But be warned they start their new grads at $21/hour then after 6 months you get a raise to about $25/hour. You also sign a 2 year contract; but I would work at UCH in a heart beat no matter their pay rate. Such a great learning environment.
  4. It's occurring out of state as well. I would suggest CU-Denver, CU-Colorado Springs, DSN, Regis. Also if you get into a BSN program after your first semester you can apply to the ACP at University of Colorado Hospital and then have a step in the door for when you graduate. I am a CNA at UCH and still can't be considered for a job ever until i get some experience since I don't have my BSN.
  5. I am in a dual enrollment with Regis now and still am not considered. The market is saturated with new grads and hospitals can be picky and take the BSN new grads only. The Community Colleges don't tell you this because they don't want to close their program. If I could do it over again I would have gone straight to a BSN program.
  6. I would highly suggest you forget about getting you ADN and go straight to you BSN unless you are okay with work in a SNF or Rehab facility. Hospitals will not hire you! I have been an ADN graduate since December and have you yet to find a hospital RN job.
  7. HI! I am being invited back for my second interview to do the 6 month Periop program here in Colorado. I was just wondering what kind of questions they asked you in your interview. I am a bit nervous about my panel interview. Thanks!
  8. Hi all, I am a New Grad Nurse in Colorado and just got an interview for a Periop Training 101 course within HealthOne's health system. I haven't been exposed to much OR nursing but it looks like it is technical nursing skills that I would enjoy. Can you tell me what a day in OR nursing is like? Also, what type of interview questions might I be asked? I appreciate any insight. Thanks!
  9. Does anyone know what the starting base wage is for a New Grad at Medical Center of the Rockies?
  10. As someone who works for UCH system. You can get a job as an ADN graduate with experience. You just have to sign a contract that within 3 years you will get your BSN.
  11. Yes yes yes! Most hosptials are BSN preferred you are better off just going straight to your BSN. You will qualify for all New grad programs. Numerous hospitals won't consider ADN new grads at all.
  12. Nursing homes here are always looking. I have two friends that got jobs on the spot when they turned in their application and they are both adns
  13. I currently work at uch as a CNA, and want to stay with the uch health care system when I become an RN, does memorial hire adn new grads?
  14. Klone thanks for the response. Do you know how long after a CNA passes the nclex they can still work as a CNA at university?
