  1. I myself haven't applied. However many of my classmates in my current nursing program have almost all applied to UW-Oshkosh and been denied, even those with exceptional grades, CNA experience and volunteer work. They stated that unless you had a good connection with the directors you had a tough shot of getting in. But I wish you the best of luck!!!!!! :)
  2. I haven't had many classes so far. But the best study tip I have found which was provided to me by one of my nursing professors, is to take the objectives for each unit and turn them into questions.
  3. How do you download the ati books to iBooks?!!!!
  4. Hello everyone! I am a first semester nursing student and am five weeks into my health assessment class. We are going to be starting to learn about physical assessments on Monday and will be covering a couple areas of the body each week. I noticed at the end of the semester we have to demonstrate a head to toe assessment. Any tips or resources to help me along the way so that by the end of the semester I can pass my demo? Thank you! :)
  5. It's going good, I'm doing well. However this is the first semester of an all new redesigned nursing program. So, we are basically guinea pigs, and the professors are SOOOOOO unorganized it's ridiculous. Hopefully they learn from this!
  6. When I go into an exam I try reading the answers to a question first rather than the normal way of reading questions first. If you read a question first you'll have the answer in your mind before you even read the answers and then if you aren't able to find the answer you thought it would be you can get flustered. Reading answers first helps me rule out almost right away some that I know aren't correct. Good luck!!! :)
  7. Stressful, so much reading. But I like it!
  8. I sit in the first or second row, sometimes we have our tables turned into a quad though. There are only about 30 students per class though
  9. Thanks for the advice everyone! I passed!!!! The only thing I did wrong was forgetting to ask the patient if they smoked or consumed caffeine before taking the BP
  10. Congrats! I am from WI as well and am in my first year of nursing classes at Marian University in Fond du Lac.
  11. I have been practicing a little bit on my boyfriend and my partner. I just have a hard time hearing the pulse before and while pumping the cuff up. Is that a problem I should worry about? I have absolutely no problems hearing it when deflating
  12. So tomorrow we check off on our vital signs. My partner and I are both confident in every area besides blood pressure. We are required to do a two step BP and can be within 2 numbers off of what our instructor gets. Any pointers on how to be more accurate or to be less stressed!!? Thanks!
