Lateral hostility
After posting this and attempting , that is what I did. It was the charge and half the unit would copy as she would. But when I left I didn't say anything to anyone other than her and the managers until the last week. Transitioned back to ICU and soooo much happier. Even when staff reached out from the other unit seeking if I can come back because when I left it was a cascade of people leaving or retiring.

Lateral hostility
Seeking advice. Have been working in this PACU for almost 2 years continuously received lateral hostility from a coworker who is suppose to be our leader. I have attempted maintaining a nice demeanor. That didn't work. I attempted seeking constructive feedback and she never gives me anything. So all the complaints she gives me seem like lies since she gives no details (The Who, what, where, when) and no feedback when asked. Lastly, I have asked management to assist in our talks because I feel like I can do nothing right and I'm not getting anywhere with her on how to better myself or improve. After the management conversational she cancelled me 4 times in two. Multiple same shift coworker have talked to her about wanting to be cancelled instead of me and she has persistently told them no they should come in and go home early. Continue to receive lateral hostility from her and her friends within the unit. So now I just give up. Stay away from her and her friends have little to no conversation with them unless I have to. Lastly go into bed spaces far away from them. What should I do? I have worked other nursing jobs and never had this issue. Also was a manager in a different field before and never experienced someone so passive aggressive. I know I'm the youngest one in the unit but I feel so not supported I never get a good job for anything from peers. So I just feel like they are out to "get me". It's not healthy for me. I love my patient and I love the variety and have never received any complaints and have cared for multiple peers post op and "VIPs". But I am coming to a conclusion I need out of it nothing gets better. I don't wanna do grievance because I don't wanna be that nurse. Sorry for the novel. I am seeking advice from everyone. I can't ask my peers because it become gossip in the unit and I don't like it.

Switching Area/Specialty in Bay Area, California? Why is it tough?
Hello, I am seeking advice, suggestions, opinions, and feedback. My background I was a high acuity Post-Anesthesia Care Unit nurse at a highly ranked teaching faculty and trauma center in North Carolina. Then sought to return to California to be near family and significant other seeking to transition area. Currently on a med-surg/tele floor. Goal to get back in high acuity such as ICU. Seem to get rejected with each application. I have applied to those I have the required qualifications and still no luck. It's becoming a bit discouraging when I had 4 offers from different specialty ICUs at the prior facility to coming to the market where once a PACU nurse always a PACU nurse. I'm open to anything. Thank you look forward to hearing from you all!

I was 13 on the waitlist for the Oakland campus (may group in 2012-2013) but was accepted sooner- Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2014
Haha I was wait listed for the Oakland campus but after reminding the coordinator willing to go to all campuses that were available for app period. I was accepted the week of orientation which was about 2 weeks prior to start date. I loved the program. At moments I hated it because I was tired but after it all it prepares me for work and interviews. I loved my instructors they were extremely helpful and they want to see you succeed. I love all the faculty and administrators at San Mateo. They are awesome and willing to help when you have a challenge Keep your heads up, when accepted try to prep your family and loved ones for the program. Remember every group is different. April/November in SM group has different instructors compared to June/Dec-Jan group If you need anything or have any questions feel free to MSG me- Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2014
Have fun!! I wish you all the best!!- TRMC Orangeburg, SC
I have a friend who works in their ED, and another Alum in there ICU/CCU. Always hear good things about the facility and the chance for opportunities. They highly respect their nurses and are extremely supportive of their new grads. I have numerous people who work there. They are friendly, personally they would be fun work with. I applied there multiple positions there but Greenville Memorial is becoming more promising for me. But I'll talk to my friend and get info for you and post later.- Relocating to Greenville, SC
- San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center Critical Care Training Program
Any word yet?- San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center Critical Care Training Program
I applied but I'm not quiet sure- I want to cry! still can't find a nursing job...
What if you have been contacting managers and recruiters but they don't call back. And when I went to "pop in" with a recruiter they shut the door. I have obtained my BLS CPR, ACLS, pals, NRP, ecg& pharmacology, and my NIH:stroke scale. I have been volunteering for medshare, various local sporting teams as an rn, and a local hospital. Nothing. I started the process for the Red Cross just got to go the orientation.- A new grad numbers game... just curious!
Mine are... 1. 40 hospitals and roughly 200 jobs 2. 60 new grad, and remainder regular 3. 20 rejections/weeded out, 1 interview resulting in rejection 4. None yet!- I want to cry! still can't find a nursing job...
Any updates? Gotta let me know I have applied to 250 positions in the last 2.5 months and nothing other than 1 call "screening" interview. I'm starting to get nervous and anxious with each rejections letter. Starting to think maybe something is wrong with my cover letter or resume but I have had a couple career counselor a look at it and say it looks "perfect" but idk. - Interview at Duke
