Yeah Kaplan is pretty expensive, my class was able to obtain it thru our school. If not paid for by school u have to pay I believe 400 but it will be well worth it it contains thousands of questions including the famous decision tree that can be used on a question u get stuck on nclex. Videos of each category with questions and how to attack each question. Sata questions, qbank questions of each category and the readiness exams which will determine how well u will do on nclex. Those diagnostic readiness exam is the nclex twin just a tad bit difficult one, those questions really test how well u know your content. As for as the Kaplan ebook which I assume comes with the program and I heard u can also have the book mailed to u, I think the book is ok when it comes to content, I don't know if this makes any sense but it seems as if it covers the info Kaplan itself teaches or focuses on where Saunders covers all data and more that u will most likely have a bit in Hurst, ready to pass, ati, etc. I never used Kaplan 2013-2014 question book but I assuming it would be way less questions than what the program has.

Saunders 5th ed is a must have for content, that book was sent from God as the Holy Bible for nurses :) u need to master the content from Saunders in order to answer Kaplan questions. Kaplan will hurt your feelings if u did not master the content!! Lol, The first two times taking nclex I used ready to pass and nscbn for content and Kaplan for questions, failed first time with 79 and second time with 140, when I tried Saunders, my computer was scared of me that sucka shut off at 75!! My name on the license list the following day and Got my license in 4 days. Don't fear the Nclex, let it fear u!! Good Luck.

I agree with soontobe, try Kaplan for questions because those questions give u the critical thinking skills u need in order to pass nclex. And Saunders 5th ed is excellent for content. U could try going thru one system in Saunders following the systems meds in the following chapter and afterwards do Kaplan focus questions on that system to c how well u took in the info, try it for each system for a few weeks and afterwards take another two wks and do the same for psych and peds. But I feel Saunders and Kaplan r the best combos.

When I had to retake I paid for the exam and after that I called Pearson vue to ask when I will receive my ATT, they said I have to call Board of Nursing to review documents to c if I'm eligible, once they tell u on the phone ur eligible they will let Pearson Vue know and your ATT will be sent thru email. Once u get ATT ur able to reschedule. It literally took 10 minutes to get my ATT. From NY.

I'm so happy for u :) u did it! I could tell by your words that ur going to be a great nurse, especially when u said ur going to give your first check to your church!! Wow, ur blessed.

Did u do the pvt trick?

Stupid cc page!! I can't wait when the good pop up blocks it. I'm sorry I'm on my second stage of greiving, lol, make sure your results say delivery successful, u can then try to register if it lets u register and u see your damn info and u click next again hoping the pop up will come then but u see in red letters something about verifying your billing info, then that means not passing, the people that mention passing when taken to the cc page u don't hear from them too much on this forum, they just post like 1-2 messages and that's it, it would be nice to show some proof so for the people that go to the cc page can have some hope.

I honestly don't feel like I failed, they gave me so many sata so I thought I was doing well and I felt confident in my answers for a lot of the questions. I pray I do pass I will definitely keep u guys posted.

Yeah in NY u can take it as many times as u want. U have to wait 45 days to take it again after u fail.

I took the Nclex yesterday for the second time and got 130 questions, numerous sata which made me feel like I was doing well, I was so nervous to do pvt and thought maybe my phone might act up and won't let a pop up come thru, I was just thinking a whole lot of craziness. So I decided to do it this morning, my fingers where shaking and it took me straight to the cc pg, I had no type of emotion, I told my parents and boyfriend that I didn't get the pop up and they basically said oh well take it again, They feel like the nclex is nothing compared to graduating from hell (nursing school), For some reason not passing the first time affected my self esteem, I was just depressed, I was like I'm just gonna stay in the bed and not take care of myself cuz every part of my body let me down that day, I didn't eat, shower, wore the same clothes everyday, my daughter didn't even want me to take her to day camp anymore, but I found the strength to start torturing my brain to study again, I stayed in my room for 12-15 hrs staight just studying like a maniac, My second time came around which was yesterday and didn't succeed again based on pvt but this time I don't feel down I feel stronger, I have a oh well better luck next time attitude, I'm going to relax for sometime and try a different studying technique with more breaks and fun time, Now if that doesn't work for the third time then psych ward here I come!! :)

Hey Texas, I am scared out my mind to do the pvt, I got up to 130 questions and the computer stopped. I had about 26 sata, so many pics, and exhibit, not one delegation, and many many who do u see first, That test had my head spinning, the sata was actually very fair, I was shocked!! The first time I took it I didn't know what the hell I was doing and failed with 75 but this time I actually took time to critically think and figured out answers, hopefully the right answers!! :) I think I'm going to just pay the $8 for quick results and take the two days to rest my brain and relax.

This is my second time and I can't wait to get this test over with, I studied my butt off this time, the first time I wasn't studying I was memorizing questions from Kaplan! This time it was all coming together with the help of Kaplan trainers, illustrated study guide, Nclex 4000 and best of all Lacharity. Oh of couse Saunders 5th ed. I can't even get nervous cuz I know what to expect, Oh how I wish I can get the same questions!! :) Does anyone know of any brain food I can get tomorrow morning?

Congrats!! RN and thanks for this post. I'm taking it on Monday for the second time and I pray that I pass this time, I studied so many review books and did so many questions to the point where my brain can't take anymore info. I'm pray I am successful as u come Monday.
