  4. Hello, i dont know if you can help me with this, I had my US embassy interview and got the VISAs already, but ive noticed that on the stamped US VISA, the written passport number on it(VISA) doesnt coincide with my actual passport number and this is the same thing with my wife, but as to regard with my son, they got the passprt number right, I dont know if its a reason to worry in case it will be a problem. Ive phoned up US embassy and advised me to email them which i did and still waiting for reply. But if any of you know any advice, it will be greatly appreciated.
  5. Its a pain scheduling the medicals, i had mine originally in Edinburgh, but ive been phoning them up if someone cancelled and we will be willing to take their place, cause they havent got the schedule for oct yet, then come 1st week of sept, they told me that they got one for oct which is on the 11th and my son got sept 23, luckily our embassy interview was on the 24th so we just stayed in a friends place in London, then took the interview the next day. Just a tip for those who will be having VISA interview, get in the embassy as early as you can, even if your schedule is 10am, get there and que up as early as 8am, cause when you get in, they will provide you with a number which will be called out, so the time are pretty much useless. If you go in there lets say a bit late like 9 am, you will have a min wait of about 3 hours. In our case we got into the embassy at 8:30am, we was number 33, then we finished at about 10am. Good luck to all of us!!
  6. Really, I thoguht they pay good in US, in my case since im in payband 5, lets say im earning $37000 in here, in CA i will be earning like $77000, which is more than double Mind you, cost of living is not as high as here in UK, But it depends on where you are assigned, Obviously it is higher pay in CA compare to AZ, madwife do you mind telling me in PM on which agency or did you do your application on your own. Thanks
  7. Yeah im coming from the UK, but im not sure about the big Pay Cut. :chuckle
  8. Thanks for that reply, how about with getting an apartment, if they say unfurnished, does it mean that the apartment is just walls, window doors and rooms??
  9. Suzanne, since you are in Sacramento, how is it like there in regards to car insurance, types of taxes to pay, I will be working in Sutter Medical Centre, i hope you can comment on this, thanks
  10. I did my application with Stateside Nursing. and i have a been assigned to Sacramento California, the latest pay that ill get is $40 +night differential and weekend enhancements. I think the thing with OGrady is that they shoulder all the expenses for you and when you get there, they are the ones paying you not the actual hospital, i think they act like a bank agency, but im not 100% sure about that, while on my Agency, we shoulder all the expenses they just do all the assistance, and when we get there we are directly employed by the hospital, meaning the hospital actually pay salary to us. the downfall of it its that i got a contract to stay for at least 2 years. The problem i guess with doing it in your own is that you dont know where to start and there are things that might be confusing and you have to follow it up on your own, unlike if you have agency, they just feed the item to you for you to sign and fill up. But its all entirely up to you on which you prefer. Good Luck to you.
  11. Ill be having my interview on the 24th of september, I ve booked my appointment for medicals in edinburgh as well, which is quite far, have to take a flight and its really costly, but as far as i know the embassy will still interview you eventhough you haven`t had the medicals, and they`ll just wait before they approve the VISA after you`ve done the medicals, and Nuffield knows about this, they are just fully booked for the whole of september. I am planning to cancel my appointment, cause im really not in a hurry to go, i wanted to spend christmas here, moreover Nuffield says that by this coming week, they might have schedule for october, so if i can get a first week schedule on october, i might take that. My agency told me as well, that it doesnt matter if you have the MEdicals after the interview, it will just take abit more time because the embassy will be waiting for your results, and if there are no health related issues you will have the VISA for sure.
  12. yeah i did, and they told me that they cannot give a definite schedule yet, i dont know, its still retrogressed in my case, cause of the US embassy in UK being slow.
  13. Congratulations to all, I am a filipino too, but im waiting still for a schedule from the US embassy here in UK, My PD is Oct 2003, and embassy recieved my papers in feb of 2005, Im just wondering, Is it NVC that needs to be contacted about interview dates, cause i phoned them up and they told me that the papers are with the US embassy in London, and they said that its up to the US embassy to make the scheduling, Because as i can see from your posts, the NVC is the one that sending you schedules.
