  1. My online program is in a different state than I live and doesn’t have affiliates in the area. The school’s suggestions was to fly to their area for 10 weeks to get the hours in with hospitals and schools they are affiliated with. With everything going on right now- lots of health departments, clinics, even nursing schools did not want to take on students. I think it depends on the area you are in. There are some masters education programs online that don’t require the clinical hours maybe look into those as well if you are worried about the precepting.
  2. Hi! I moved from Boston to SoCal. New grad jobs are very competitive here. It definitely helps if you want to get into the bigger hospitals to have an "in" or try the residency programs. The smaller hospitals will hire a few new grads at a time, but it is hard to really get anywhere without any experience. Having the weight of MGH or another large hospital can make a difference but it also depends on what you did there. It all comes down to how can you sell your self in interviews. I know I had phone interviews first and then in person or skype interviews after. Just try to apply to as many as you can with plenty of time ahead.
  3. Hi- I am towards the end of my MSN-Educator online program, however now it is clinical practicum time. I am having an extremely hard time finding a preceptor with a MSN to complete my hours with. I live in the Los Angeles, CA area. I have sent emails to schools and cold-called hospitals. It is even harder with everything going on. Does anyone know of someone who may be interested? It wouldn't start until August 2020. Thanks for any help!
  4. xobritney24- Any places you recommend for a new grad with an ADN to apply to? I recently moved to Boston and have been putting out applications to anything I can find. Any suggestions that maybe I missed?
  5. Anyone know how strict they are with getting all the vaccines/titers done right on time? Can we submit a bit after deadlines?
  6. I know at orientation they said classes may be different, but today is registration and all the classes have to have consent to register. Tried talking to the ADN counselors and no one even knew we could register. Anyone heard anything from the the ADN assisant about registration?
  7. Can anyone help with the Fall Classes? Registration is coming up and I don't understand the schedules they have posted. Foundations says Mon and Tues 8-11 and then 5 Wednesday times for 8-12? And Health Assessment has a jumbled schedule as well. Any help please :)
