What do you think of 12 hour shifts?
We don't get 4 days off at the hospital where I work. We actually work a 3/2 split. I think if I didn't have so far to drive when I get off then 12 hour shifts would be okay. But I have to drive 30 miles to get home and though it may not sound like much, when you've had one of those crazy nights, then sometimes it's hard to stay awake driving home. I keep a blanket in the car in case I'm too tired and need to take a catnap before driving home.

Pearson says... Pearson vue trick not accurate
I'm in Mississippi. I took my NCKEX-RN in June 2013. 84 questions. As soon as I made it to my car, I did the PVT from my phone and I got the good pop up. I kept checking every 3-4 hours just to make sure and I even tried to register for the NCLEX-PN ( I had already passed in 2009) just to see and again got the good pop up. That was on a Wednesday afternoon. That Friday morning, I was going to pay for quick results but when I checked at 6:30 that morning (I couldn't sleep, lol) it was still saying results not in but my license was posted on the BON website. So far, all of my classmates who have taken it and passed had their license number 2 days later. The ones who have failed all were sent to the CC page when doing the PVT.

How to defeat the NCLEX- RN's SATA questions!!:(
That is the same way I approached my questions. Also look for words like "only" "always" "never" "every". Usually if those are in the answer choice then that answer is more than likely wrong.

What are your bridge program pre-reqs?
We had to have English comp 1 & 2, college algebra, A&P 1 & 2 plus labs, microbiology plus lab, human growth & development, sociology, psychology, speech. At least a 20 sub score in math on the ACT or you had to take the TEAS test. I think that was all.

Am I the only one who hates 12 hour shifts?
I work 12 hour shifts and I feel like I don't get enough sleep because I live 45 minutes to an hour away from work. When you factor in the time it takes to get ready, the drive, and the actual hours worked, it seems like the whole day has gone by. And since I have to leave earlier to arrive on time, I miss my children during school season. I work night shift and I'm gone when they get home from school and by the time I make it home in the mornings, they're already gone to school. 8 hour shifts would allow me to spend more time with them.
