  1. Home health might be a good option. I hear some companies are flexible with schedules.
  2. Ive heard good things about college of the mainlands lvn program. A couple of my friends went to school down there. They said the instructors are friendly and want you to learn. 98% of her class passed nclex.
  3. Well how is it going there at UHV? I read on their website that you must attend clinicals depsite having RN experience. Is it 12 hour clinicals like in the ADN program?
  4. "What is the nurse patient ratio?" and "What does the orientation entail?"
  5. $139 to register for nclex and $200 for the nclex exam itself. Also 9.95 for fingerprints.
  6. Than you all for your responses. It has been a great help.
  7. Would anyone mind explaining what a telephone triage nurse does? Is it basically answering patient calls and offering recommendations?? Do u have a paper to read for a certain scenario?
  8. Thanks newrnltc. Ive been hired at the local nursing home prn. I am hoping that will help me gain further knowledge and skills. Im glad that you were able to obtain a clinic position and that its a enjoyable place to work. Im still looking for a full timr clinc job while i work prn ltc. Fingers crossed
  9. Congrats!! Two huge accomplishments
  10. You are hanging out with your friends and the on of them falls and you automatically start thinking you need to get immeadiate vitals and fill out an incident report.
  11. How are nurses able to get in the clinic sector? I keep hearing from the hiring managers that they want medical assistants or you must have clinic or hospital experience. I dont have hospital experience because the hospials only want BSNs for the new grad internships. Ive been told by hospitals that nursing home experience doesnt count because its not acute and clinics say nursing home experience doesnt count either. So how do new grads get into the clinic/ambulatory care sector?
  12. My best friends cousin recently applied to corpus christi sphon facility as a new graduate and he never heard back from them. He has his license and LPN experience no criminal background. I guess they are no longer new grad friendly.
