CNA's: Please Read
Yes you can work nights, if that is what you prefer. I was PRN/Part-time during school semesters working about 8-24 hours/week (depending on how busy my week was) and during breaks I picked however many shifts I felt comfortable working. My schooling was fairly easy. I took an 8 week summer course at the community college in between spring and summer semesters at my university. I am also fairly petite and have built stamina ans strength in my legs, arms and back. It may be difficult and tiring at first, but if you stick with it, you will be able to handle many patients on your own. But remember to know your limits and be willing to ask for help when needed and take special care to protect your back, its your money maker. I do love what I do, especially the special moments with patients and appreciate all the knowledge, advice and stories I have gained from working with them. I am glad I got to see what I would be getting myself into before I fully committed to my nursing program and graduated.

SSM Futures - An Overview
Congrats! I had mine on the 22nd and was told the same thing. I thought my interview went okay also, but then again.... I don't know. Just patiently waiting for the yes/no email. I also have some other leads, but think I'm going to hold off and wait until I pass boards to really start the search.

Hello, I wanted to start this thread for all who applied for St. Elizabeth's New Graduate RN Residency in Belleville, IL. I sent my completed application packet in yesterday and am anxious to hear back from a recruiter. Has anyone else applied and heard anything back yet? Scheduled or had an interview? Feel free to share your experience, good or bad.- How I passed NCLEX-RN the second time!!
Congrats! What were your average scores for the HURST Q-Review?- Lakeview College of Nursing
Yes, there is a drug test required after you have been accepted into the school, along with the required immunizations. And as for any advice, I would say keep your grades up in the prerequisite courses and enjoy all the free time you have now if/when you are accepted and begin nursing courses. Good luck to you!- Out of town clinical sites?
Some students in my cohort are placed at a hospital site 3.5 hours away. They are an hour ahead of our time and have a 5:30 am start time. Which means that those who are placed at that site for the semester have to leave no later than midnight or 1am at the latest the day of clinical to be there in enough time and have time to spare for traffic and bad weather. So 30-60 minutes to commute isn't as bad as what some students in my cohort have. But remember we are located in a somewhat rural area with a small community hospital, so travel to a good site that can offer great clinical experiences is required.- FINAL SEMESTER!
Congrats to all of you. I will be entering my final semester this Fall 2013 and am excited and nervous about graduation, NCLEX and finally being done with nursing school! It does feel unreal to be so close to being done and graduating, because when I first started taking pre-reqs and finally entered nursing school, I thought it would be a million light years away before I was even close to finishing. I can't believe I'm almost done! Good luck to every one in their final semesters!- St Elizabeth's Belleville RN Residency Program 2013
Hi all, I'm interested in applying for the RN Residency program at St. E's. I will be graduating in December and wanted to know the timeline for submitting an application, and interview callbacks. When did you guys see that the application was available online? - St Elizabeth's Belleville RN Residency Program 2014
