  1. I used only Kaplan on my first try......Biggest mistake...... because they don't give you enough rational and as a nurse that schooled outside the US I needed rationale to understand . My 2nd time, I used nclex 4000 and a book someone gave to me ( it's not sold in stores but given at the review Centre), I used kaplan strategy and practice question book which I highly recommend for answering nclex questions. I did 150 to 200 questions a day and my scores went from 50's to 80's ( It wasn't easy but I asked God for the strength to run the race because with an infant by my side you can imagine how I had to plan my time in order to study and take care of my baby). Practice Practice Practice, above all trust God and believe in yourself. You shall overcome!!!
  2. @NightCrow......... I want to endorse my license in another state and want to know when to start the process because I have my name and license number on Ca BRN but I haven't received my license in the mail. Can I start the process with just my license number I have on the boards website? TIA:yes:
  3. Thanks Night Crow.:)
  4. I am sorry for the late response. I received my letter stating I didn't pass the boards and was sad about it. I started reading again and went off social media. My application to retake the board was sent the next day and I took the boards 19th of this month................The computer stopped at 78 .......I said a little prayer telling God I am not coming back to this screen ever again. Two days after taking the board I saw my name on the boards website........ I was speechless and thankful to God because He proved Himself faithful!!!!!!!''
  5. Congratulations:whistling:
  6. We have the same timeline. I also took mine on 8/28.
  7. That was super quick:yes:
  8. You were lucky that you had access to the PVT trick and your name was posted on the BRN after 36 hrs.
  9. I guess it's only RN's result that gets posted on the BRN.
  10. All we can do is wait:yuck:
  11. Based on your comment, I agree it's going to be a big fight. I'm an advocate for the board and nurses in higher authority to stand their ground and fight the good fight for the future of the nursing profession.
  12. Thanks alot, your post makes me feel better. At least I'm not alone in the waiting game.
  13. Congratulations!
  14. I would encourage all boards of nursing to make BSN the entry level for nurses and shut the already existing ADN programs or turn them to BSN degree awarding programs. My reason is that this well reduce the numbers of RN graduating each year thus increasing the demand for nurses. Its only in nursing you have LPN, ADN and BSN doing the same job. The nursing situation is so bad in terms of employment because nurses are flooded everywhere also, hospitals receive over 50 applications for just 1 nursing position. Nursing boards should take a look at PT that requires doctorate degree at entry level and OT that requires masters and possibly doctorate in the near future . They are happy about this changes because this will keep their supply low and demand very high with few students graduating from their programs. Nurses really need to learn from them!
