I interviewed for the OR as well! There was no mention of reference checks and I think I remember reading that only some units will request them. Perhaps the OR doesn't ask for them? Did anyone ask how many people they were hiring and interviewing? It slipped my mind. Good of luck everyone!

Hi everyone, My wait has finally come to an end! I've been following the feed quite a bit and wanted to give you my timeline. End of April- transcripts mailed and fingerprints completed with livescan in CA May 11- hand delivered application to BRN office (with sealed transcripts) May 23- application received according to Breeze/check cashed July 6- pending temporary license application appeared on Breeze July 28- I checked Breeze and my temporary license number had been posted! A little over 9 weeks from when the check was cashed. Maybe the board is finally getting it together. Best of luck to the rest of you!!

Congrats to those who have interviewed! Has anyone heard from units other than NICU, L&D, or SICU? It sounds like those who were selected for the June start have all been called by now.

Accidental as in using prescription drugs for recreational use and then accidentally overdosing. If someone overdosed and realized they needed help, I can see why they would go to NA... Also, @brattygrl "guinea pigs for nursing research" sounds a bit harsh. What's wrong with setting something up in a way that allows people to come to us if they feel comfortable talking about their personal experiences while maintaining their anonymity?

Our professor recommended that we go to an NA meeting but I get what you're saying... I've never done something like this before and I'm new to the area so I don't have any connections here. I won't be bothering anyone if I walk right into the ED and ask for the director? Thanks @RED1984

Hello, I am a new nursing student looking for some help. A couple of my classmates and I are doing a presentation on accidental prescription drug overdoses (the ones you would see in the ER/ED). We are planning on attending an NA meeting to speak with patients but I think it would be beneficial to hear from a nurse as well. If you are a nurse with some experience on this topic and wouldn't mind answering some questions about working with these types of patients, we would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you!

Shel, Congrats on getting an interview! If you don't mind me asking, what did they say when they called you? Do they tell you a date to be there or do you choose one within a time frame?
