Non nursing jobs during monitoring
My contract stated I had to work as a nurse for a minimum of one year under monitoring to complete. I also worked in a non nursing job in tissue donation/recovery. They love healthcare adjacent people and you do not need a nursing license to do it.

OIG list
Hello! I am so sorry you are going through this. You will need to get an attorney. A good friend of mine was placed on the OIG list for continuing to work as a nurse after he was refrained by his monitoring program. It took awhile but he was removed from the list and is now working again as a nurse and doing great. He did have to rejoin the monitoring program and demonstrate sobriety.

Thinking about moving to TX/TPAPN
Sure!

Thinking about moving to TX/TPAPN
My plan would be to move to Texas and make that my main state of practice.

ANYONE ELSE IN TEXAS???
I’m trying to move to Texas and get a contract there. TPAPN can’t be any worse than IPN. What’s TPAPN like? I’m in IPN in Florida and all contracts are 5 years so texas doesn’t seem so bad by comparison.

A few questions...
My advice is to use an evaluator who is NOT affiliated with a recovery center. There is just too much financial incentive for them to recommend stuff you don’t need. I’m in Florida and my biggest mistake was going to a recovery center instead of an independent evaluator (ie someone who had nothing to gain from recommending longer treatment than was necessary) As far as education, it just depends on whether your license is clear. IPN in Florida protects your license so mine is unencumbered.

Thinking about moving to TX/TPAPN
Hi everyone! Im an RN in Florida with an IPN contract. Sober for over two years, a year and a half into my FL contract. I have an opportunity to Possibly move to TExas and I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with transferring contracts. I’ve had no problems in IPN so far. Just trying to put out feelers about what a move would entail. Does your contract stay the same? Is there reciprocity? Any and all advice, experience, strength or hope is appreciated ❤️ thanks in advance

just did IPN eval
I expect a contract and Ive accepted that. I'm just afraid I'll get php which I cannot afford since I had to borrow the $$ to even get the eval in the first place. Even IOP will be a major hardship but I am willing to do the work. I am uninsured at the moment so php will be impossible. The director at the gnv place was a pediatrician who lost his license bc of cocaine abuse and now practices addiction medicine. The gnv community is very small and my fiend who works in psych says that sometimes if an MD actually loses their license the only option to get it back is to practice addiction Medicine.

just did IPN eval
The one in Gainesville is pretty similar and the MD who runs it is not ethical. Friends of mine have firsthand experience

just did IPN eval
Do you know of any evaluators that aren't affiliated with a center? I'm in north central Florida but willing to travel. Thank you

just did IPN eval
Thanks for responding. I don't have any money to be sniffed out, does that mean my recommendation will be different? Do you have any recs for ethical places?

just did IPN eval
Did my IPN eval oct 24 at healthcare connections in Tampa . It was $900 for all screens, mental health eval (depression) and an IPN eval. I haven't had any narcotics for 3 months ( on nov 1) and they have told m I won't be able to continue my prn xanax (which is fine). My DOC was po opiates. I'm scared I will get PHP despite the fact that I have been off of it for several months. Has anyone been to this place? I cannot afford php (or probably IOP either lol). I am willing to do whatever I can and want to hear everyone's experiences with FL IPN Thanks

New to IPN
I have my evaluation coming up on September 26. I'm worried that I will get s 5 year contract. I have so many questions. My issue is with opioids, I rarely drink and don't do any other illegal drugs. I've read that drinking any alcohol is forbidden. This seems excessive. Also is the program worth it? I feel as though I've been chewed up and spit out by this nursing profession over the past few years. Would I automatically lose my license if I decline IPN? Should I get an atty and explore my options? Any insight is appreciated. Thank you
