  1. And that's a wrap! what a relief
  2. Thank you, I will check with my advisor. I would love to be over this sooner!
  3. Did you already take NRSG 4600? I was under the impression that we had to take 4600 last and other classes could be taken in any order. The reason I ask is because I can finish the program sooner if I can take 4600 before 4560.
  4. Not entirely helpful so far but I will say that for this week the videos on dependent and independent variable have been very helpful
  5. I took the second quiz this morning. I felt it was the same level of difficulty as the first, no harder no easier. My strategy is to spend most of the week reading the text, I complete my DB first and then read again. I take the test as late in the week as my schedule will allow so that I have time to really understand all the material. I am a little old fashion in that I do take notes from the chapter. My study methods are time consuming not time efficient. I actually got a better score on this quiz then the first. The 1st test I missed 3 questions, the 2nd I missed 1. Psych yourself up not out! best of luck to all.
  6. No, it was a difficult test but not impossible or un passable. A majority of the questions are application so understanding how to apply the concepts is key to taking these tests. The other thing I have to so take a deep breath and not watch that damn ticking time clock. Don't let the testing process play games with your head. I also have found for me don't rush taking the test, I try to take the test not before thursday and best to take on Saturday that way I have had ample time to read and review. Best to you and to all of us!
  7. Week 1 is done! Research question: am I more likely to retain information read in my text book if I read while drinking a martini? Is there a literature search available on that?
  8. I just finished Quiz #1 also. I have to say it wasn't too bad, and my grade is good. I did read the entire reading assignment and used the study guide with notations on it as well. Good luck to all.
  9. Me too on the ethics quiz. Where did they get those questions and why have us go thru the exercise at all??? It had me spooked about the real quiz until I read your post. Thank you
  10. So I looked at that Ethics quiz and I don't think there is a problem with the edition of the book. This quiz is difficult! and the answers will not jump out of the book no matter what edition you have. I sure hope the graded quiz is no as difficult.
  11. Class is not posted for me yet
  12. I'm in, not close enough to be counting down the classes but I'm not too far away. I hope to be finished by Feb 2015.
  13. Good Bye Campbell family. According to my research there is no need for me to ever visit West Virginia!
  14. As it was explained to me (by my advisor who is no longer at OU) because my nursing credits were from a hospital diploma program not an associate degree comm college I would not receive those as transfer credits UNTIL i fulfilled 2 of the OU nursing courses. I have since accomplished that and have now received the credit for them and it looks like they accepted 27 credits in lower division nursing. After you have been accepted you will receive a DARS (degree audit report) which is as convoluted as every other document from OU. I had my advisor go thru this with over the phone so I could understand it. There is also a video link on the site that I found by accident that will also go thru the DARS. As just to confirm Woodsyny the statistics course fulfill the math requirement for Gen ed and prereq NSRG 4550 Evidence Based Nursing. Best to you in you pursuit
  15. 11Nick, I understand and share some of your frustration about the application process, I was frustrated when I couldn't talk to a human being until I was an official student. My application included as associate degree in health related field, Nursing diploma and I had started an RN to BSN program 15 years ago that was interrupted by family. I approached this degree from the "path of least resistance" angle. I shopped around a bit. the hospital I work at had and education fair which made this really easy. I found the OU accepted the most transfer credits. I have all of my science and statistics classes, OU accepted them to transfer, they don't expire...that was big for me because not all universities were as forgiving. the program at OU turned out for me to be the least amount of credits and dollars to complete my BSN including if I would return to the program I started 15 years ago at a University very close to my house. OU even accepted transfer of an upper level nursing class for what they call Diversity, I had to provide them a syllabus with objectives and assignments but they transferred it in. I was hesitant to join the ranks of the online school environment but so far it has been ok. There are things that are frustrating and there have been some growing pains as I learn to navigate this online education but EVERY program will have its issues. You have to decide what is important to you. AS for that Junior level comp class, I saw a video link somewhere on the OU website in which they state almost every student will have to take this class at OU esp if coming from community college. If you have a previous BS degree chances are you will have a class that qualifies otherwise you will be taking it at OU.
  16. Ill have to admit this week is not my best but done is good and that was the goal! One more week and we are done! In looking ahead at this weeks assignments I am not looking forward to that final paper. UGH
  17. I agree. The first case study I wrote like a paper, introduction, good bridging sentences, solid conclusion. I worked really hard to make this flow like a story and include all of the points they wanted us to address. The feedback I received was that I had good discussion but lost 1 point because it was 7 paragraphs instead of the prescribed 5-6. So this week I did not write in like a paper I simply made 6 headings that incorporated all the data points and wrote a good solid paragraph for each...lets see if I lose points this week?????
  18. I am so done with my family...How and what am I going to write about next week??? Happy Thanksgiving to all
  19. Thank you for all the comments on 4540 and 4550...yes we can do anything for 5 weeks, thanks for the info and the encouragement.
  20. looking for advice or insight I haven't yet registered for the spring semester, I am looking at 4540 Community Nursing and 4550 Evidence based nursing. Have any of you taken either of these classes and able to comment on the workload. January is a busy month for me and my family. I want to finish this program asap. the second 5 week session I have no classes to take so I don't want to take the off the first.
  21. My TA sent week 3 and 4 info in the announcement section. It is not showing up in the groups section
  22. So I don't think this class is that bad...I just don't find all the detail family analyzing very relevant to the nursing I am currently practicing (endoscopy and cath Lab) and therefore I find most of the assignmnets just annoying. I also don't think this is the most times consuming class I have taken. I took Leadership 4580 last spring and that was just AWFUL!!!! no communication from the TA, emails not answered, assignments graded in 7 days not 3 and NO feedback on your assignment, although I did get an A (not bragging) I never knew if I was on the right track or not because I got no feedback. I was pretty sure that the TA wasn't even reading my work. I have lost a few points in this class but I know why and I respect that. Tips from the points i lost...assignment say 10 pt font make sure its 10 and not 12 - lost 1 pt for that. When assignment say 3-4 paragraphs don't make it 5 - lost .5 point for that. So now for the next assignments I will follow directions to the letter. Best to you and to all of us. This online learning is certainly not the easy way out.
  23. We get new information about the same family. So I case study family remains the same with new details each week to build upon what we already know.
  24. loks like I am in section 35 I havent seen a TA announcement yet just the professor telling us to communicate with the TA...
