  1. I had clinicals at ben taub for almost 2 yrs. and one of my best experience was clinicals in the ER, I loved it, it's fast pace and full of stretchers, except for the shock rooms, where u just get 1 pt. at a time.
  2. if u doubt yourself in A&P please don't hesitate to pick up an "A&P made easy" book/studyguide. It will do wonders, trust me. Goodluck on everyone.
  3. wow, where did you hear this? I graduated last may and took my board in june and got a job after I got my results. I currently work in the ER in the medical center and I just want to clarify that the teachings in HCC is great, I can't say that it is perfect, but no other school out there is perfect. It's good that you love your school, but no offense, when was the last time you went to school at HCC coleman? Do you know how they teach? Did you graduate from HCC and started working? Did you talk to BNE and discussed with them the status of HCC's teaching license? If not, then you wouldn't really know, so please stop the bashing of other schools. Since i've registered on this board, i've never talked sh|T about other schools, if I had the chance to, I would promote each and every single one of them. I wish I could pull up the current passing rates of HCC grads on BNE, but I can't find it, I do believe that we currently have a 100% passing rate for this spring, I could be wrong.
  4. yeah, i have a friend who works in their CCU and he says he loves it.
  5. It's usually who you know in the administration. I currently work in the ED in the med center, mind that i'am a new grad, but they still accepted me to work in the ED. no more semester for me ... hehehe! with all the confusion about how bad/good HCC is... all I can say is that, they taught me right. And I believe the spring grads have a 100% passing rate in the NCLEX, correct me if i'm wrong, but that's what I heard.
  6. Wow, didn't know I had some schoolmates here. Hello Schoolmates... Goodluck on y'alls studies.. !
  7. You can work full time and still go to nursing school, as long as you manage your time correctly. I've been working full time throughout nursing school and I graduate in may 2006, hopefully.
  8. Contact BNE, here are some contact info: http://www.bne.state.tx.us/phone.htm

Well, i'm just praying that nothing bad will happen during clinicals. I will try to keep my head up and do my best at it. I honestly do not think that i'll be working in OB field when i graduate, so i'll just fake it till I make it.

Hello ! Thanks for the great replies ! My clinical rotation is @ a federal funded hospital here in Houston. I'm a people person and I usually get along with most people, but my main concern is that what if the patient rejects me. I have anxiety issues when it comes to people rejecting me. Because i'm so used to getting along with most people. Last month during our PEDI clinicals, the parents of my patient were very angry and frustrated and did not want any student to be taking care of their child. My whole demeanor just went down the drain, my teacher even said that after that incident, I totally changed. I just want to know how to react in a situation just like that. I want to build enough courage to do what I have to do. Anyways, thanks again for the replies and let me get off my soapbox.
  12. Hello everyone ! I'm about to start my OB clinicals and i'm a bit scared. I'm a male nursing student and I was wondering on how patient's react to male nursing students. What should I do, if they feel uncomfortable? I've never (visually)experienced labor before and i'm both excited and scared. I would gladly appreciate y'alls tips and advice. Thanks in advance ! And Happy Easter !
