  1. Thanks for all your input. I passed in 75 questions!! I did a little bit of studying the weekend before but I don't know if it made a difference. Looking back, it might have helped to practice select all that apply questions since there were so many of them, and I realized I have a block about selecting anything other than 3 answers. :) Now for the hard part: getting a job and learning to do it well!
  2. I appreciate the responses, but I suppose I should be more clear. I would certainly take whatever time I have to review. But when I say study, I mean make a dedicated study plan with several hours a day for several weeks dedicated to studying. I studied like this for teas and gre, so I assumed I would for nclex. But since I scored so high on ATI, even though I haven't studied in 3 months. I wonder if I should just try to take the test now as soon as possible, or follow the study plan and take it later.
  3. Does anyone know if you score 99% chance of passing the NCLEX on the ATI comprehensive test, do you still need to study for the NCLEX in order to pass?
  4. Also wondering if you all know what skills are on the skills checklist that is sent out to references, so that I can work on those in my last few weeks of nursing school for what it's worth.
  5. Hi I'm graduating the first week in September and would like to know how to apply to the Cedars new grad programs. I've heard you have to be one of the first 200 or so who submit an application online once it's posted, but how do you know when and where to look for the posting? I already submitted my info on the Cedars HR web site but I haven't heard anything. Thank you!
  6. Hello everyone, I've been trying to find information about when/how to get started applying for the Cedars new grad program. Were did you find the posting with info about where to submit initial applications? Do you need to have passed the NCLEX before you can apply, or just by the time the program starts? Does anyone know when applications will open up next? Thank you so much in advance!
  7. I got in and had a similar overall GPA, and some people in the program had lower, I believe. Give it a shot. Essay and interview matter. Most of all, be confident in yourself in why you believe you have what it takes to succeed in an accelerated program and become a great nurse!
  8. Anyone else who received a rejection email receive an acceptance letter in the mail and then more mail with a registration time, etc.? LOL
  9. I am really sad to not be going to SMU, I know it would be such a great experience. I could really see myself there. But I got in to my top choice school, CSULA. My partner and I want to move closer to family in LA. I have lived in oakland for 5 years. I will really miss it here.
  10. heads up waitlist, I'm about to withdraw my intent to attend.
  11. Okay. Yeah. That's why it's called a deposit. :)
  12. Do you all think nursing program directors read this forum?
  13. I think the 18th might have been the last day of interviews unless anyone else knows otherwise. K said that other professors in the department need to read over the writing samples and rate them. I'm not sure how long that would take and who else is involved with making the decisions, but it seemed like maybe more people need to give the approval than just K. She also made it seem like the writing samples were really important, contrary to what someone else has said on this forum. I had plenty of time left over with mine, but since it was hand written, I couldn't use it to re-organize and clean up. That part was really frustrating.
  14. Oh sorry about that, most schools require a deposit to hold a spot in the class. I guess CSUN doesn't?
  15. I think you just lose your deposit in that case. Yes I bet they are just waiting to see how many people accept vs. decline the first round.
  16. Thank you all for the advice. A suit was definitely the best option since that's what she was wearing!
  17. the eternal question: what to wear to a nursing school interview?
  18. sorry to hear no interview alyssag24. what is your top choice?
  19. Hi Vikont, I'm curious what makes you think that...?
  20. Looking at past years' forums, some people are asked to be on a wait list (not called a waitlist though for some reason) and get offered a spot when people decline, which is usually quite a lot of people. Other people just get a straight rejection.
  21. Congrats! Did you apply for summer only or both summer and fall? Anyone else hear?
  22. Pray for me to get in to CSULA, and I will give you my spot at SMU!! (I have personal reasons relating to proximity to family why I really want to move to LA right now)
  23. I am interviewing on the 18th too! Are you morning or afternoon? I'm really hoping it doesn't hurt my odds by having one of the last interviews.
