  1. I just wanted to ask you guys if anyone has applied to the Sept. 2021 intake for Ryerson? If you guys are still doing another semester, how does it affect admissions? Are we still gonna hear back from them by the end of June? Anyone know? I completed the bridging a few years back now I applied for the fall intake to Ryerson to finish up.
  2. Hi there sorry to hijack this thread. Anyone going into Ryerson fall '21? For Post-diploma nursing (after bridging)
  3. Hi everyone, I wanted to know what the process was for people who have successfully scheduled the CPNRE in May 2016. I am in my last semester of the practical nursing program at George Brown College and I have submitted my application to the CNO. They have charged me and sent me the Jurisprudence exam link to which I completed and passed. But, I have still to receive this link to Pearson Vue to schedule the actual CPNRE. Anyone have any insights or been able to schedule it? Thanks!
  4. Have you guys been able to book your appointment to write the exam in May 2016? I am still in school and graduating in April hoping to write in May. Any clarification about this would be great. Thanks! I am in Ontario :)
  5. Thanks for everyone's input :) I actually spoke to the school today and they said that they would accommodate us and definitely they try to keep people together, especially if they live together. So good news all around :)
  6. Hi everyone! I just wanted to get more information about the placements :) My girlfriend and I are in the program together. It seems that we can be switched to different schedules due to placements. If we live in the same apartment...then wouldn't we both be switched and not separated?? Anyone know what is the likelihood of being separated in different sections? If so is there anything we can do? Thanks!
  7. NCLEX, does that exam apply to PNs as well? As it is now, I will be graduating April 2016
  8. Agreed with the clinical skills. As for learning styles, wow, I found that students do exactly that memorize and cram! Doesn't work, what I did was understanding and digesting. Otherwise no hope! I think again, study skills is key. Thinking like a nurse is something that I look forward to learning :)
  9. Hi, I appreciate all the help from everyone. Jackie, if you look at the course outline for this coming fall on the website it seems to have changed from the last one. What do you think of it? I have just taken the prehealth at gbc and found it easy academically but time management was good. Having graduated that with gpa of 4.0 and won the deans medal, I am sure that the PN program won't be that much different. i appreciate that people find it hard. As a tutor of three health subjects now over the summer I can say the majority of problems lie with study skills. They'd really should do a separate course to help students, what do you think? thanks for that all :)
  10. Hi guys wanted to reignite this thread. I am starting in Sept. PN program. Lets connect future students! :)
  11. Hi everyone, I'd like to find out when people take the CPNRE? Say you finish school in April, would you take it right after? Also do they only have three times a year to take it? Thanks!
  12. I did see yesterday that they have a new paragraph under the PN program's description regarding the approval. Still I'd like to know more and I didn't get an email back. AshuM any luck?
  13. AshuM, That would be awesome. I already emailed them so let's see what happens! I think it's just some curriculum changes...but, who knows and will they tell us? By the way who is the program coordinator?
  14. I emailed GBC regarding this. No reply yet. AshuM any ideas?
  15. Will do! Might have something to do with changes the CNO made in Jan. this year regarding dispensing rules? If I find anything out will post :)
  16. I just looked at this and can't believe gbc got downgraded. Anyone have any ideas why? I noticed all the colleges in the GTA now have conditions....seems mysterious since gbc was given five year approval last year!
  17. Hi AhsuM! Thanks for the congrats! It was hard but very fun :) So I know you can get the uniform from GBC but are we supposed to get shoes from them too or any white shoes? Thanks and maybe see you on campus in the fall!
  18. Guys, for those of you already at GBC, What will I need as far as equipment for the PN program? Textbooks and uniforms I know...anything else? Thanks!
  19. I know the BscN at Ryerson/GBC does have a ceremony and I agree not fair! CNO should have them too
  20. Cool I wonder if the CNO sends us RPN's in Ontario one?
  21. Awesome! Anyone know which schools still do it? So that I can use this as incentive to get GBC to do the pinning :)
  22. Hi everyone! Well as the start of my RPN program at GBC is getting closer, I'm wondering why there are no more nursing graduation pins? Anyone have any idea? I know that Ryerson does a ceremony of sorts but it's at the start of the program and thats only for RN. I'd like to ask GBC to start a pinning ceremony after graduation for RPNs anyone with me??
  23. Hey that's Great!!! Well done and I think GBC is notorious for taking time to reply. I'm still not sure why I got in so fast! Let's keep this going to see who else got in where :)
  24. Hi everyone we'll it's official!!! I am starting the RPN program at GBC in Sept. 2014! So blessed and excited.
