  1. Its the hospital you work at. A good hospital will maintain a culture of excellence.
  2. Appreciate the advice. I hadn't thought about that before.
  3. Bump. No ideas, really?
  4. I have extra time on my hands now that I'm done with school and I was wondering what education or certifications are available to me that can get me a raise. I just graduated this past December and I passed boards late January 2013. I'm going to take an ACLS class next month but aside from that what else can I do to increase my pay? I'm working med-surg of course...
  5. @Nickle & Ivana: Ha! That is motivating! Hopefully there isn't any prerequisites to taking that exam.. Is there? Ive only been a nurse for about a month hehe
  6. Six patients should be upper limit. Greedy ppl at the top have no clue what it takes to take good care of ppl >.>
  7. I agree with this. I've been practicing this for time saving purposes. This is more advanced stuff though Get a hang of the basics before you start grouping tasks. I've been a nurse for like a month now. I'm still trying to get a hang of grouping stuff.
  8. Well I had written a long paragraph but I got tired.. 1. Receive report 2. Check charts 3. Assess patients 4. Pass meds These 4 steps to start the day. If you want rationales or have f/u questions just ask. I'm too lazy to commit to fully answering this right now. I don't know how everyone else does it lol -.-
  9. Nurse aides are awesome But yeah I'd say what you have so far is great. Orientation status is also important. Falls are a big deal so if you could team up with the nurses on trying to prevent falls, everyone stays employed and paid. So I guess whether or not a bed alarm is on is important too.
  10. This thread is depressing lol.
  11. I've never seen one MAR for multiple patients. Do you mind describing it? Sounds like it could be a good idea.
  12. I'm a new nurse so don't take this the wrong way: What good is this certification (advantages)?
