  1. I'm pretty sure I leave crying most every day...work is stressful.
  2. I was wondering how many patients per nurse most facilities allow? Mine allows up to 3, but I personally believe that anything more than 2 can be dangerous and too much work for one NEW nurse. Especially if you have 1, 2, OR 3 extremely critical patients that require bp drips, baths (night shift, we don't have techs) and a lot of other care. Would like some input. Thanks.
  3. The "NCLEX trick" worked for me... I tried to re register in the car as soon as I finished with 75 questions after I took it in June and it wouldn't let me. I don't know anyone the trick hasn't worked for... congrats!
  4. I find that remembering how much to titrate up or down is super difficult. I need a chart to say how many cc's to titrate up or down to the next mcg for each drug (I understand you can't do this for weight based). I can't seem to find one.
  5. In our ICU, we only rarely have techs, but when we do, their jobs are to help bathe and stock the carts. I do know that in our PCU, they have techs that bathe patients, get patient vitals, and other things. In my opinion, I think you would acquire more knowledge in PCU. But I guess it just depends on the hospital.
  6. hahahha... I know several people that's happened to!
  7. Hey guys, my name is Amanda from Mississippi, and I am new to this forum. I'm really not sure how to use this site yet, but I joined because I wanted to find out more information about becoming a FNP. I started working as Critical care nurse 1 year ago in May. My goal when going to nursing school was to become a FNP, therefore I got my bachelor's degree and graduated last year, took my boards, and immediately started working. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how much experience someone should have before attempting to apply to school? Also..Ive heard many rumors about the 2015/doctorate issue, I would appreciate any information about this or links to prior posts since I can't seem to navigate this site yet :) Thanks! :) -Amanda
