LPN for the two years I was in RN school. nothing that qualified me for this job. I honestly got mega lucky. 5-10 ppl from my class applied this one spot and I got it...- trauma and critical care

I'm in my 3rd night of nsg orientation. It's a really really steep learning curve. Just learning about the vents and abg values and how they correlate with each other is taking a lot of time to grasp. I do feel blessed and lucky I was able to do this but understand hesitancy of managers to hire new grads- Interview ahead, bit worried

Lol, there is no calculus involved in dosage calculations. People would die at an alarming rate if there was....- Recent NWCC graduate
I would like to add this: Throughout the entire program the instructors a the various levels told us NWCC grads have a reputation of being the best around including baptist/Memphis/UTHSC/southwest. I thought they were blowing smoke the entire time until I started interviewing for ICU positions and every single manager told me the loved nwcc grads the most....- Recent NWCC graduate
I just graduated from NWCC 2 weeks ago. I want to offer my opinion about the program for anyone seeking admission. The instructors, for the most part, are pretty solid/caring individuals. They often go out of their way for the students with one caveat- you must be a part of the "in crowd"- usually people with prior health care experience. Outside of that particular group you will face an uphill battle the entire program. Politics play the biggest part in your overall experience there. Instructors at this school can AND will do whatever they want. It's completely at their discression as to whether or not you pass. LET ME REITERATE. IF YOU HAVE AN "A" IN THEORY AND AN "A" IN CLINICAL WITH NO CRITICAL ERRORS/ANY ERRORS THEY CAN STILL FAIL YOU.......AND IT HAPPENS. THIS ISN'T HYPOTHETICAL. that being said, if you're still bent on attending this program LAY LOW. Stay under the radar and do your best to not rub any instructor the wrong way. Kiss up to them and above all else, DO NOT EXPRESS WISHES TO DO ANY ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSING. Believe it or not, they think it makes you look arrogant and not caring(even though I completely disagree) I'd be glad to answers questions if you have any about the program.- Hard copy of icufaq.org
Is it worth purchasing? Is it put together well in book form?- TICU Resource Suggestions

I'm an LPN with 2 years experience. I graduated from RN school last week and just received a request for an interview in the only level 1 trauma ICU in Memphis. My concern is that that it will be TOO overwhelming as I already know the learning curve will be steep. Anybody take this plunge newly minted? Any suggestions from you ICU folks?- How much was your lpn program?
