  1. I think the main thing for applying next year is to apply early and as soon as you can! I applied in December I believe and got acceptance right away after February so maybe that is key!
  2. Congrats!!! Looks like we will be future class mates
  3. That's great. Thanks everyone for your responses :)
  4. Hey Marty, I think all schools are pretty fair in their placements and I do not believe one is better than the others. I attended an information session and I know they do try to give students what they choose and what is also closest to their residential area so students are spread all over
  5. Hey everyone, I am beginning my nursing degree in September. I know nursing is alot of shift work.. But just out of curiosity... Do you get to "choose" certain shifts at all? Or get to bid certain hours? Say if you start out doing two years of shift work on whatever shift.. As you move up in seniority do you get more input or get to select what shift you are on? Any answers are appreciated!
  6. I think 120 get accepted every year. And I believe 30 of the spots are saved for Those who are currently York students in an undergrad program and then 90 spots available for external applicants.
  7. My cumulative average was around 85%. That's including my 4 year psych degree. As for my last 10 courses I am a little unsure. Last 10 courses definitely had a lower average. The prerequisites of anatomy and physio really brought it down! I would say probably mid-high 70's?
  8. I drive an hour and a half each way just for SCHOOL for nursing. All the great hospitals are in the city and I would love to have a job at one of them but I don't know if I could do that commute my whole life. On top of that- gas is crazy expensive!
  9. Hey guys! I applied to York for September 2013 and got accepted on Feb 15th for their second entry program! I am so happy as York was the one and only school that I applied for. I have my BA Honors in Psychology, and approx an 85% average over my last 30 credits. I'd love to meet some new people by the time the school year starts!
  10. Hey everyone, I just got accepted to York's second-entry Nursing program on Feb 15th! I am so extremely excited. York was the only school that I applied to so I definitely put all my eggs in one basket- but hey, it worked! I have a 4 year honors degree in psychology and work experience as a behavioral therapist. I completed my philosophy, anatomy, and physiology prerequisites last semester at York and right now I am just doing a microbiology course. Did anyone else get accepted? I'd love to meet some new people by the time school starts!
