  1. Awesome gingerbread326! Congrats. I already live in LA. When you start looking I suggest checking out places in the Santa Monica area, La Brea, or Culver City. Good luck and see you on the 26th!
  2. MLB4 that was great advice. I too will be starting as a new grad in an ICU soon and am a little curious as to how I may react to such a faat place high accuity environment. This is where I always wanted to work. Only time will tell how I will adapt.
  3. I got a BS with a major in nursing. From what I was told by our dean, our degree has more science courses which which are equivalent to what all pre-health professionals would take. I am sure every school is different. I do not think hiring managers or lay nurses care much about the distinction, they see you as just having a bachelors.
  4. Hey ner214! Awesome, I cant wait to meet you on the 26th! Im sure we'll be CTICU buddies !
  5. Its a great sign that you got the reference email! I interviewed for CTICU (one of the first interviewees), got the reference email, then a call asking me to come in for finger printing, and finally a call offering me the job. Hope this was helpful :)

  7. Thanks for you help. I did get a prioritizing question which I completely screwed up. However, they did not seem to hold me too much to it. The had me explain my rational behind my actions and then told me how they would have liked to see the task be completed.
  8. There are not caps on the amount of applications they will accept. I was told this by the nurse recruiter. She also mentioned that the application will be up for the entire time that it is scheduled to be open. Hope this helps
  9. This blows, UCSF was my dream job! I guess there are other programs that are as good in the bay. Stanford has a really good program I hear. Anyone know of any other programs in NorCal for new grads?
  10. Got to UCLA! It was the best decision I ever made. I hate to say this, but having a degree from UCLA definitely opens doors for you.
  11. What were the interviews like? Were there any behavioral or scenario type questions?
  12. This is very interesting. Are there any scenario type questions that you can recommend? Or offer any advice on the topic?
  13. Got called last week for a second interview with unit staff. Fingers crossed, I have no idea what to expect
  14. Im planning to apply to UCSF as well. I hear its hard to get accepted but possible. I know a number of people in my cohort who will be applying too.
  15. I've heard the same thing and to was told to check the site weekly for the date.
