Bed board/bed placement
Can anyone tell me how they manage the bed board at your hospital? Is it centralized in the system and who is staffing it? Nurses or clerks. Also how big is your facility. Thanks

TEAS VI - failed :(
I was allowed to re-take the teas 13 days after not doing well on the first. After that I realized that I should never have been allowed to take it that soon. From reading the website it states that the 30 day wait is in order for the test taker to be better prepared. I did the same on the second as the first. Now my school says I can't take for a year and I'm mid nursing program. Can this score be invalidated so I can test again? Any ideas?

Nursing anxiety and Electronic Medical Records
i am an rn on a pediatric unit for 20+ years. i am also a student in an mba health care management program. i am conducting a poll to see how nurses feel about going towards electronic medical records and would appreciate any and all input. 1. size of organization, location 2. location 3. rn or lpn, bsn, associates or diploma? specialty area? 4. years in nursing, age 5. has your organization gone to electronic medical records? 6. if yes rate from 1-5 (5 being best) how well the conversion went 7. if yes, rate from 1-5 how anxious you were prior to the change over 8. how long did it take you to become comfortable? how many hours of training did you receive prior and was it enough? 9. if your organization has not changed over yet, when do they plan on doing so? 10. how would you rate your stress level (1-5 5 being very stressful) when you think about electronic medical records?

SW Boces Entrance Exam
hi, my name is ally. I just went for my interview at Northport on June 30th. Does anyone know how long it will take until I know what the decision is? I'm so anxious. This is my second interview, I had one last may but did not get in. The woman seemed very positive, and told me I was definatley qualified and that I seem much more confident than last year but I'm so nervous. I want this so bad.

Questions on having closed Peds/PICU and stop floating
I am a 20 year Pediatric Nurse on a 25+ bed unit with a 4 -6 bedded PICU in a community hospital. I am attempting to do an evidenced based practice research paper for school and work determining the feasibility of closing our unit and putting an end to floating. We currently float to the Mother/baby unit and NICU on a somewhat regular basis with it being more often from about March to Sept. With the units getting more specialized with so many competencies and medications we are concerned about the safety issues involved. We alos know the more we float, the more nursing satisfaction decreases. I am looking for ideas on how to accomplish closing the unit, just floating to PICU as needed. Anyhting anyone can tell me or any suggestions would be much appreciated!!
