University of Cincinnati Pros and Cons

Hello! If you are worried about your GPA just write a stellar essay and have phenomenal letters of recommendation. Those outweigh the GPA. I had one from the medical director of my unit, my unit director who has her MSN, and another program director I worked with who happened to be an NP and UofC grad. There is no set requirement on where the recommendations come from. Your preceptors can be an NP or MD, just not an PA. And you can use the same preceptor twice if it's in your exact specialty. Meaning you can do 2 semesters in an actual family practice office or I can do 2 semesters in an Internal Medicine practice since my focus is primary care. Best of luck!

University of Cincinnati Pros and Cons

I'm currently set to start my 3rd semester in their AGNP program. So, the first year all of the specialties are in courses together while you take the 3Ps. This program is online, but it is rigorous. Be prepared, but it is doable. Biostatistics was actually easy, the Adv Patho Phys almost killed us all, it was just a lot of info and very in depth. Every professor has a different set up, so in one class you may have 5 exams while in the other you just have 2, but the midterm and finals are always proctors and no exams are ever allowed to be open note. Best of luck!

New grad RN- new to rehabilitation

Sadly there aren't many besides the ARN (you should join). Luckily I had an amazing director that required continued education modules on neuro, bowel & bladder, mobility and so on and so forth throughout my time as a rehab nurse. Honestly, I learned the most from my PT, OT, and SLP. I utilized their techniques and knowledge and rolled it all into my nursing care. Also, it depends on what area of rehab you will be going into. I worked in an acute inpatient rehab which functioned as more of a med-surg/rehab if you will, so we had a variety of diagnoses we dealt with. Besides the ARN a good place to start is ask your Director about the patient population they most often see. Rehab nursing is it's own world, but was one of the most rewarding and I definitely miss it. Best of luck!

    Bay Area NP Preceptor

Hello everyone! I'm currently in the University of Cincinatti's AGPCNP program and will be starting my clinical hours this fall. I am looking for an NP (can be an FNP as long as I stick to patients 13 and above) to precept me this fall, spring 2019, or summer 2019. I've had to expand my search area because the region I currently reside is low on NPs and the ones we do have are already locked into precepting clear into next fall. Since my specialty is Primary Care/Internal Medicine I need the bulk of my hours in those types of settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    University of Cincinnati AGPCNP

I paid nursingCas their $65 and then after my information was verified I received an email asking me to create a UC profile, and then I had to pay another $65. Now I'm just waiting to hear back, the representative said it could be 6 weeks...

    Transferring credits to Chamberlain?

All they wanted was my transcript as well and everything that I could possibly transfer over did, I will only be taking the required 32 credits through them.

Still don't get the BSN ADN thing...

I couldn't agree with you more, but you put it in words better than I ever could have. I chose my NLN accredited little old ADN program with 100% NCLEX passage rate and all MSN prepared nursing instructors from UCSF and USF (to name a two) because it was a great fit for me, I was a single teen parent working and paying my way through school and could not afford a huge tuition price tag. I would not change that experience for the world and am glad I had it, so I never look down on anyone for the route they chose to get their education.

    MATH 1302

Off topic from your original question, but how do you like UTA's RN to BSN program? How long will it take you to finish? I'm applying and would just like some feedback from actual students.
