Congrats to all that have been accepted so far. Don't loose hope to those that are still waiting on an acceptance letter. I was waitlisted and made it in and will be graduating this spring. Best advice I can give you all would be to get your prerequisites, specifically anatomy and physiology out the way prior to fall. Nursing courses are unlike any other courses you have taken before and it will require a lot of time to do well. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

I usually study on my off days, before or after class and before my children get home from school. I also utilize study groups with other classmates right before exams that seems to work well for me. The best advise I could give you would be to study a little everyday as this will help you to retain the information you are learning/reading.

Hello to all the incoming dccc nursing students. While you are experiencing a lot of anxiety not knowing what to expect you can and will get through it. This program is very demanding of your time in and outside of the classroom but as long as you have a schedule it is very doable. I'm a single mother of four and work weekends only as working during the week became too much to juggle. I will say the day time program students like myself are very committed to this program and focus but for some it became too difficult to juggle work, school and family obligations. Prepare your loved ones now that they may sometimes be ignored but it will be worth it in the end! Good luck to you all.

No you only need to take one course. I just wanted to take both courses since pharmacology would help for the second year/boards and the clinical enhancement course seems interesting. But if you choose to do Drexel rn to bsn program, they require pharmacology as do most bsn programs and you could use the clinical enhancement course to fulfill an elective.

I'm taking both pharmacology and the clinical enhancement course this summer. Clinical enhancement course is only offered summer 1 and pharmacology is offered both summer 1 in class and online and summer 2 online. If you have to pick one I would definitely say pharmacology is the most important for the boards and for the second half of the program. I took the pn nclex and it was loaded with pharm questions.

I'm currently in my first year at dccc and I would suggest you stick with dccc. They recently partnered up with drexel to offer a rn to bsn program that you can be dual enrolled in. This would cut down the amount of time it takes to complete your bsn to about 1-2 years depending on what classes you have already taken.

You would need a letter stating you have been accepted into a nursing program. As long as it states you were offered a seat in a nursing program that is good enough to apply regardless of outstanding courses needed. If you are selected for the scholarship, you would then need to submit prove of enrollment in the nursing program which normally is requested around June/July. Hope this helps.

The liability insurance will be added to your tuition every semester and is $5 each semester. That's taken care of for you. As far as medical insurance, it's required to have medical insurance for the entire time your in the program. You only have to get basic medical insurance and the school can provide you with a list of companies that offer inexpensive insurance. They will talk to you about all of that during orientation. Check out Obamacare, it might end up being cheaper to get insurance through the marketplace.

I wouldn't say so. Nutrition is a very interesting class but you will have projects to complete throughout the semester so it is time consuming.

As far as the course load, A and P ll is a difficult course by itself without other classes. It would really depend on if you work or have other responsibilities outside of school. It is doable though. I took A and P, microbiology and nutrition (online) in the same semester and it wasn't too bad.

They will mail you a "study guide" of drug calculations and conversions you will be tested on soon along with info on orientation and registration for Nursing 110. If you study that and understand the formulas and conversions, you will be fine. I ended up taking the drug calculations class and found it to be beneficial.

Well written essays, good letters of recommendations and if you can, volunteer work in the healthcare field wound certainly give your application a boost.
