BSN or RN?
I attended an accelerated BSN program and I was able to work the whole time. We had 24 hours of clinical a week and 6 hours of lecture plus study time. It was hard, but do-able. Many of my classmates worked as well. Also there were military wives/mothers with husbands on deployment who were able to do well in the program. I think you could do well in the accelerated program. You just have to be very good at managing your time.

Nursing Pins
We were given pins when we had our pinning ceremony. I didn't know other schools make you buy them?! The pins were all the same with the schools name and BSN on it. I framed mine because it represented the hard work I put into school and it was specific to nursing. Everyone who graduates from college gets a diploma but only nurses get a pin. So I say get one and frame it. If it is not to expensive, that is. And though I am a pretty new nurse myself (just landed my first job in the ICU), I want to say congratulations and welcome to the profession!

Needing some advice or encouragement
My mother was narc addicted all of my childhood and most of my adult life. She did some horrible, unspeakable things because of it. I had resentment towards her and am only now starting to get over it. It takes time and you must continue to prove that you can be trusted. He will eventually trust you again. But that decision is on his time not yours and you have to respect that. The feelings that he feels are valid and he may not realize that he needs treatment to in order to accept and move on from those feelings. I wish you well in your recovery.

Accelerated School= Accelerated depression?
I felt like this a few months ago. I,too, am in an acceletated program and will have 40k in debt after graduation. Im also faced with living in an over satuated market for new grad nurses. So getting a job will be difficult. There's some grads i know who still after a year and a half do not have jobs. I learned that you must focus on the present. Thinking about what is or isnt gonna happen in the future will only cause uneccesary anxiety. Another thing I learned is reaching out on these forums really help. Its like group therapy almost. You are not alone. Look for something outside of school that makes you happy. Find someone who you think is the bee's knees and talk about non nursing stuff. If your depression persist, seek professional help. I did and im better for it.

American Nursing Student in the UK wanting to do my Elective Placement back in the US
IDK is an elective placement the same as an externship? I know that externships are set up by the school that you are going to. I wouldn't even know where to begin with international placement. Also have you looked into what requirements there might be to take the NCLEX in the US? You may have to have your transcripts from your UK school evaluated by a university here before applying to test.

Need some words of encouragement
Leave your insecurities at the door when you walk into your new school. It is a chance to start over and finish what you started. Nursing school is a beast. It is harder for some than others. You can do it! You just have to be willing to do whatever it takes to make it.
