LPN to RN Chattanooga State Jan 2014 !!!!
Have you been to one of the meetings yet? They give you a full list of the points of the people who got in last time around. They give you a high, low, and average. If you don't have it....I have mine from the one I attended. I am planning on applying for the night program that starts in summer 2014. I know the points vary based on night and day programs. Which one are you planning on applying to?

NEED AN RN'S help please!
I'm sure you will be fine. Everyone has made mistakes in their past. Whenever you finish school and get ready to sit for boards you will have to a lot of stuff if you have been arrested that others don't have to do, but no one in my class had any trouble. The worst thing is that you'll have to go before the board and present your case.

Best shoe to wear in nursing school for clinical and after?
I just finished up school in July but I think your feet are going to hurt no matter what you do :) I jut bought a good pair of new balance walking shoes, but we also had a strict dress code for clinical.

LPN with a BS in exercise science, looking to further nursing education
Hello everyone! I am a new LPN graduate (passed boards Sept 2012) currently working in homes with developmentally disabled adults. I graduated from a state university with a Bachelor of science in exercise and health in 2009. I really want to further my nursing education as much as I can, possibly online. What is it like for someone who doesn't have much money but has most (or all, depending) gen ed classes. I know that sciences and maths expire after a certain time. Just wanted to get some insight of what the online programs are like. How do you complete the clinical portions? Do any credits transfer? Books? Online vs. classroom instructors? All that jazz. Thank you for any input anyone can give!

5 Months with my LVN license & still NO JOB
I had a hard time finding a job as well, I'm on the other side ofThe country in Tennessee, but all the same. I was determined to get a full time job bc I needed the benefits. I just accepted my first job as an LPN. It is not full time, but from what I have heard most places will not hire full time from outside the company. Good luck! Apply for anything and everything, even places that don't say they are hiring. The economy is awful so take what is offered!

Part Time/PRN, does it ever turn into full time
I ended up taking the job! I heard from plenty of people that work there that hours are readily available if you want them. The DON told me that they do not hire full time outside the company, they always hire for a full time position someone that already works there, and that happens pretty fast there. I'm nervous but very excited! Thanks everyone

Special needs and cerebral palsy
I am an LPN graduate (graduated in July) and I just landed my first job! It's PRN at a group home facility. I'm really excited and it was job that had no ad for employment anywhere, someone just referred me and it worked out! Good luck to you

Part Time/PRN, does it ever turn into full time
I am a new LPN, passed boards in Sept. I have been applying high and low for a full time job (need the benefits), and have had no luck so far. I have had opportunities for part time/PRN. I was just wondering if anyone had to start there as well. I have a great chance to start part time weekends at a developmental disability group home, and something is telling me that it would be a great thing. I have heard that most of the time PT does turn into full time eventually. If anyone could shed some light on the PRN/part time side of things I would greatly appreciate it!

Passed Nclex rn in August, still no job
There are a lot of people out there that feel your pain. There is no nursing shortage right now, and many many applicants. I applied for a job (LPN) in a pediatric doctors office, and when I called to check on my resume I was told there was 75 applicants! Being new nurses, there are many others out of work that have experience that are applying for the same jobs. I took the NCLEX and passed in Sept, and the only things Ive got interviews for are part time/PRN. Im now thinking that might the way to go, just to get a foot in the door. Anyone else took a PRN/Part time position that had a quick turn around for a full position?
