UTMB FNP Fall 2015?
Hi all, I still haven't heard back from UTMB either. I've already been accepted into FNP at UTHSC-Houston and TWU Houston. Has anyone heard which program is better from the three? I have heard that UT Houston finds your FNP clinicals for you, whereas TWU & UTMB does not? Is that true? Anyone have any feedback regarding FNP at UT-Houston, UTMB, or TWU?

UTMB FNP Fall 2015?
Thanks Kbrown92! For anyone curious: I just called the school and they said that they have sent out some acceptances but not all yet. They've gone through a lot of the applications but haven't completed them all. The school also does send rejection emails so if they review your application and deny you - you will hear from them. As someone mentioned earlier -- they only meet once a month so it could be some time till another set of acceptances go out I assume?

UTMB FNP Fall 2015?
Congratulations Kbrown92!!! When did you apply to the program through NCAS and when did you submit your supplemental application? Anyone know how they send out decisions -- all at once or over a span of time? Thanks!!

Harris Health GN Internship 2nd Interview
They were really more about getting to know you. They really take a look into your portfolio. Give you scenarios. Tell you to give them your strengths and weaknesses. Mine was easily 30 minutes and they really wanted to know how I handled situations and if I knew to reach out for help and that I would work to make my unit stronger etc. They really wanna see that you are a good fit for their department and that they can see you working with them. Second interview was done by the specific unit's director, manager, and educator. I didn't have any clinical questions at all. Hope that helps and good luck =)

Harris Health GN Internship 2nd Interview
I have a 2nd interview with Harris Health/Ben Taub for the Cardiac Unit. They weren't able to let me know it it was a med surg cardiac or critical care cardiac unit. Does anyone know what type of questions I should expect for my second interview. The first interview had very basic questions about myself. Will the 2nd interview have critical care/cardiac related technical nursing questions? If so, what kind of questions should I prepare for? Or will the questions be more vague/get to know me more type of questions? Any help or advice would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you!

UHV Second Degree BSN Spring 2014 Applicants
Hey y'all. I'm currently in this program and here's some advice I have for y'all for the interview day. I was stalking this forum around the same time last year so I know how you guys feel. Some tips: 1. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. If they say no talking, then no talking. Do what is asked of you -- they want to see you're able to follow directions. 2. Be good at group working. Our interviews had nothing that was one on one except the computer component. With the computers - just be able to work the internet, send an email. If you're reading this forum, you'll be fine. With the group work - help each other, work well with others, don't take over and over dominate... make your team look good... FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! Watch your time during presentations etc. 3. DRESS PROFESSIONALLY and bring your portfolios with all your documents. I'm not sure what they require you to bring but be sure to have it. I saw someone mention the blue card -- you will need that for any nursing school so go ahead and have that done (you just have to have proof that you paid for it/scheduled it -- most of our blue cards didn't come in the mail till the program started). We didn't have any one-on-one interviews last year but I'm not sure how they're organizing it this year. Lastly, be confident, kind, and calm. I'm sure you will all do great! Let me know if you all have any questions... GOOD LUCK! :)

Nurse832 - make sure that you check your junk email. Most of us have heard back. Those who have been accepted need to respond and confirm attendance by today 5PM (that's like 2 minutes). See if you have anything from recruiting rep. If you haven't heard then maybe they'll send out a second batch of acceptances after those who did not want to attend the school(from the first batch of acceptances). GOOD LUCK ... & there's still hope :)
