Nursing office always busy!
Hi theatredork, unfortunately I do not have a enough posts to be able to send you a PM. However, I was wondering if the NICU at NYP hire nurses with experience in med/surg and trauma but not NICU . Is there a fellowship for such nurses? I want to apply but I am not quite a new grad but I don't have any Nicu experience.

Prince georges hospital center
I worked at PG. It is a very very busy trauma center, and I agree if you can work at PG, you probably could work anywhere. The pay varies with experience. They start new grads off at 26.41/hr on day and evening is 29.41, and nights is 31.41....pt ratio on non icu can be tough at times...between 4 and 5 on day shift, up to 6 on evening and up to 7 on nights....nurses could wear whatever scrubs they want...I feel as though it is a great place to learn....

I noticed that you work in the NICU at Children's in DC. I am trying to work there as well. Can you tell me about the unit, the scheduling, and the orientation process. Thank you

Hello, I am planning on possibly going to Children's National Medical Center's NICU...do you know anything about that specific NIcu? Also, do nurses on orientation work weekends?
