  1. One thing that I have learned in my studies is that it's good to organize your weekly studying in advance, usually on a Saturday or a Sunday. I try to keep Fridays as free days in my course schedule, although they're usually taken up by volunteer hours. Also, if you can, try to discern what times during the day you feel most comfortable studying. For instance, I used to believe that I studied best at night; I eventually learned that this was not the case and that I feel more confident about retaining information if I study during the afternoon.
  2. If you're going to add coworkers to any social networking site, make sure it's just a professional network like Linkedin. Also, if you do your facebook privacy settings correctly, you can't even by found by other people. However, it is probably best to deactivate a facebook account during a job search!
  3. Did you graduate ADN or BSN? If you have a BSN and would be interested in the Baltimore area, try looking at Hopkins and UMMC. UMMC advertises nursing positions for new graduates.
  4. This is an excellent topic. I've actually had a living will since I was 22 (I'm 27 now). I was taking a medical ethics course, and I came to a personal realization that it was necessary after reading several case studies.
  5. Believe it or not, a good medical terminology course will help you some on the sciences portion. The official TEAS review book should help to some extent, and you can fill in what it doesn't explain well with the "____ for Dummies" series of books (I nabbed anat/phys, biology and chemistry.)
  6. I've emailed Shenandoah admissions about this; the average GPA of incoming accelerated BSN students is a 3.5! Hope that helps!
