I'm a CNA, not a MAID.
Sad thing is I make $20 AS a maid and only $10 as a CNA.

Thinking about giving notice :(
Thanks everyone for the feedback, yes I'm frustrated! :| There are a few HHAs here but this one advertises as being willing to work around school schedules and the others say they want open availability. It is a small agency that is just the office manager and a nurse as far as I can tell. I got scheduled during school again today and when I said something about it they said it was because they were shortstaffed. I would miss my clients, but grrrrr!

Thinking about giving notice :(
I've been a CNA since this summer and working in home health while I get ready for nursing school. I seem to be having trouble with the office manager and am thinking of turning in my 2 weeks. I live in a small town and I don't want to burn bridges but I'm pretty stressed over this. The biggest issue is she keeps scheduling me for shifts I can't work. She basically ignores my availability sheet from hire. I brought it up with her and she just said well get there as soon as you can. There have been several times that shes changed my schedule without posting it and then I'm left scrambling. I'm new to this field so don't know if she just doesn't like me or if this is common behavior?

Hugs!! Pulses and BP are hard! I had a classmate who was a former CNA and still had to test twice before he passed.

Can CNAs work outside the Nursing home?
I work as a CNA in Home Health. In my city CNAs don't work in hospitals or doctor's offices, but in nearby cities I've seen that they do.

What to expect on a CNa position?
Most of the CNAs I know working in a facility prefer days or 2nd - one in particular said she loved 2nd because that was bath shift and she loved having time to visit with the clients during bath time :)

How long did it take you to find a CNA job?
Hi there, It will depend some on your area, but I was able to find work right away and was hired at the first place I applied. My best advice is: If your CNA instructor talks positively about any people/facilities - PAY ATTENTION. Write their names down and start there. Networking is good :)
