Sac State Fall 2013 Applicants
Congratulations to all of you that got into the program! It's a wild but fun ride. I just want to give you guys some advice. If you have a facebook group at this point, at least create seperate facebook accounts that you use just for school. And, once you have verified who is in your cohort, make sure only those people are in your facebook group then make it secret. Trust me.

OMG Say it correctly!
Of course I just HAD to look this one up. The dictionary has a brief history on it. Apparently it was always pronounced "often" until some of the more educated started to pronounce it "offen." Interesting. Therefore I've got to say offen is incorrect.

Any ADN-BSN programs without ridiculous papers?
I don't see how you could have completed a BS and/or MBA without writing papers. It takes great skill to expand on a word enough to pull several pages out of it. It's not stupid.

Your immunizations are important to take care of now. Especially the ones that require a series. I wouldn't want to be at the hospital unimmunized! Some people from this semester had a hard time getting health insurance so if I were you guys I'd start at least looking for plans. No matter which school you go to, these things will be required. Don't put it off.

Sac State Fall 2013 Applicants
Hey guys, you all seem to have great stats! Even though I'm sure a lot of people applied, remember that most people probably applied to more than one school. I think last fall they went down to alternate # 47! If your points are over 70 I wouldn't stress about it. I would stress more about making sure you have all your immunizations, health insurance, and car insurance! Good luck everybody!

Hey guys I'm more than happy to answer your questions. Sorry about the inbox issue. I thought I cleared it recently. Anyway, the program is way less work than I expected. I am a super over studier and I do things way ahead of time and I'm still finding it very manageable. Having said that, there are many students who are frustrated and feeling crunched. The front loading period goes by pretty quickly and the hardest part is figuring out your schedule, but it's so doable. Just show up every day around 7:30 and follow everybody else. lol. I think you have plenty of time for extracurriculars, but I'm not married and have no kids so it may be different for others. The student life is something I don't feel I can comment on well without knowing what you would consider a good student life. I've found it to be good because the people I chatted with on AllNurses.com and I got together prior to the first week of school to meet each other and get going. I was lucky to find a group of responsible and studious people who were just excited about the process as I was and am. I found that the prereqs were much more difficult than what I've experienced in the program thus far, but we have yet to have our first test so I'm sure I may feel differently after that. One thing I can say that's much easier about these classes versus the prereqs is that class now is so much fun because it's interactive, and we get to put textbook knowledge into practice and do fun stuff with each other and the mannequins. Plus, the staff is really really great. Our professors are very engaging and passionate, and I don't even dread waking up early anymore. Class starts at 8 most days, and 6:15 other days. It's great though, and I'm shocked that I can say that about waking up early!

Wow, just a few months ago I was in the same boat as all of you! I just started the program this Spring and I LOVE it! Good luck to everybody. I was not expecting for the program to be as great as it is. Of course we've only completed 3 weeks, but there are so many things about the program that are excellent. EVERYBODY you will encounter is amazing, from the administrators to the faculty. I can honestly say that every single one of my professors is great at what they do. It is a lot of fun, we have a great support system, and the program appears to be designed very well. We just did the sim lab today for the first time and it was soooo much fun. Good luck everybody!

Was just going through the forum and noticed this post. I think I was confused about how the evolve system works and we all have to pay for our own books separately.

Infected Needlestick
So I'm a nursing student and I'm currently watching a video on needle sticks. It states that if you are wearing latex gloves, about 50% less blood is present on the needle by the time it reaches your skin.

I would take a look at some of the stories from past posters who have had needle stick injuries. I haven't seen anybody who posted in your same position come back with a positive result. You are most likely just fine, but your concern is of course understandable. But, don't allow yourself to worry about things that are beyond your control. There's nothing you can do at this point, but take your preventative medication as prescribed. Praying for you.

Just so everybody knows, we are allowed to take the quizzes together. Anybody who wants to join us in working on the first couple of quizzes join the Facebook group for information on when/where we're meeting. I actually emailed Dr**. Here response is below: ]Thank you for the honest and forthright question. I do not mind collaboration on quizzes providing you do not short-change yourself. What I recommend is that you answer the questions for yourself then get your friends input before saving the answer. My biggest concern is that students rely too heavily on their friends then don’t do well on exams where they have to rely on themselves. As always, copying &/or distributing quiz questions is considered cheating and is an actionable offense. Dr.

Yes, lessons 1 & 2, and I don't see any problem doing the module quizzes.
