  1. That previous post was to squatmunkie_RN I am sorry that happened to you. But thank you all for your prayers it really means a lot to me I didn't realize it was so much encouragement on here! Lol. I will definitely try to stay off the Internet because it isn't helping and I will ask about extending my meds 2 weeks. You guys have made me feel better and I know prayer changes things for the good! I will keep you posted! And jbumgardner4 I agree with Esme12 we have to treat everyone like their infected and make sure they are as still as possible because you never know who is infected! Thanks again guys!!
  2. I wish that hadn't happened to you but thank you so much for your prayers it's a horrible thing to happen!
  3. Hi guys, I didn't know exactly where to turn to so I'm posting to help gain some personal insight and to calm my nerves. Yesterday morning around 6 am I was giving a SQ heparin shot in a patient's belly. The patient was really thin so I had to try to grab a lot and I remembered telling myself to make sure I do not get stuck! Well I successfully administered the shot but the patient moved so when the needle was coming out he bled a little from the site and with the movement I poked myself on the left hand through my latex glove. I was frozen for about 15 sec cause I could not believe it!! When I came out of my trance and lifted my glove I was bleeding and went to the sink and washed my hands and bled for like 2 minutes even though it was a small prick. I thought I was always so careful! Well needless to say the patients history is HIV+ and hep C+ and I am so distraught. I was so embarrassed I didn't tell my charge nurse I just waited until 715 and told my assistant nurse manager in confidence and she told me what to do. I went to the employee clinic and had base blood work drawn his blood work indicated that he did have HIV with counts greater than 50 and Hep C+. She put me on a high dose 14 day aggressive regimen of combivir 1 pill 2x a day and kaletra 2 pills 2x a day. Guys not only do I need help from fellow nurses but also your prayers I know the statistics to catch anything is very low but I am so worried. Has anyone else been through this? I have to get checked in 2 weeks 6 weeks 3 mos 6 mos 9 mos and 1 year. I will definitely keep you posted and any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!
  4. Oh- and just to let anyone know who actually needed encouragement about nclex- I got 5 SATAs no meds 2 diagrams a bunch of priority and delegation- so dont freak out like I did! my test stopped at 109 and I passed and i thought i failed because most people got like 15-30 SATAs and math questions. So dont worry and relax and leave it to GOD- you can do it and you will! Be Blessed!
  5. PVT works!!! I passed!
  6. i just tried the pop up and got the good pop up- what if it is a mistake and i still failed?
  7. Hi you guys took nclex today and i prayed about it and studied Kaplan. I had 109 questions and only 5 SATA! the computer shut down on the last SATA and I know that's bad. I'm trying to think positive but I just feel bummed out. I was working as a RNA and will lose that job if i failed? anybody got few SATA and the computer actually shut down on 1 and pass? Im so nervous i cannot eat. I know that God's will will be done either way- I just don't know what to do!
