I just graduated from Wilmington University's RN-BSN program. I took two classes per block and finished in 15 months with a 4.0 while working as an RN. It is by far the best RN-BSN program out there. This program is NOTHING like basic nursing school. It builds on what you already know. I am already looking into their MSN programs. Good luck!

Hello fellow nurses! I am scheduled to graduate soon with my BSN. I worked in L&D throughout nursing school and loved it (couldn't get a job there as a new grad so am currently working on TCU). My question is, where do I start from here to receive my CNM? It was easy to find RN-BSN programs, but are there BSN-CNM programs? Is CNM a Masters degree or is it a Post-Masters Certificate? I am so lost! Everything about receiving the Bachelors degree I know like the back of my hand, but dipping into Masters Degree water is a bit intimidating! Thanks in advance!

ciku03, I was able to get ahold of someone in the HR department to ask in general (again not about myself specifically) how long it usually takes to start setting up interviews. I was told the November 1 posting generated 150 external and 50 internal applicants and to expect to hear from either a recruiter or electronically by the END of December. So it looks as though we still have quite a wait ahead of us. I was expecting there to be competition, but I have to say I'm surprised at the total, 200 people is quite a hefty amount. I can only pray I made an impression with my application. Good luck to you as well!

I saw the position is finally off the list, I was surprised it stayed on as long as it did! I've heard it's usually off within a week so that could be a good thing or a bad thing. Either they didn't get as many applications as they have in the past, or they're going to be totally swamped with candidates after leaving it on for so long. I called the HR department last week just to ask in general (not about myself specifically) how long it usually takes to start setting up interviews, but was unable to get ahold of anyone. I've heard that for the last internship, they started interviewing 1 month after applications came in. Praying right along with you!

Hello! I also applied on the 1st and received an email on the 2nd saying my application was being reviewed by HR. I haven't heard anything else but I see the position is still posted on their website. I'm hoping and praying to hear something, I've applied to dozens of jobs and haven't received one call back. Has anyone applied to the Nursing Graduate Internship at Anne Arundel Medical Center? If so, how long did it take you to hear back from them? Are there any other surrounding hospitals that are new grad friendly? I've been applying to Johns Hopkins with no luck. Thank you for the advice!

This reminds me of a situation that happened just after nursing school. I was at dinner with a group of friends and the waiter came up and asked if we all worked together. One person said; "No, but we're all nurses!" I was the only RN at the table, the remaining three people were all Vet Techs. And yes, they still refer to themselves as Pet Nurses. It's amazing how the word "nurse" is thrown around, so now when I'm asked I say; "RN".

I am in the same boat; it is so very frustrating. I would recommend calling or emailing your clinical instructors asking for a written reference and send them whenever you send your resume. I would also add to your resume; "Written references from clinical instructors available." There is also nothing wrong with a good cover letter expressing how long you wanted to be a nurse, how good of a nurse you will be with their company, etc. Good luck, hoping for us both to land our first jobs very soon!
