Georgetown Midwifery/WMNP
Oh I totally understand about the state thing. :) So if I'm understanding you correctly...you're saying that living in the DC area will be just as bad as a rural area bc of so many other programs? Let me know. THANKS.

Thanks so much for your input Dalla! I was wondering though...what state/area do you live in? And what areas do the people having trouble getting placements live in? I'm only curious because maybe it would be easier to get placements if I'm living in a big city area? I live close to Georgetown but the online format sounds a lot better to me because my husband is in the military and so we could move at any time. Does it seem like it would be more plausible to get placements closer to a big city area like D.C.? or do you think that won't make a difference? Please let me know. Thanks!

Are you applying for the January cohort? If so, what's your "background"? lol. Just trying to figure out who's applying for the same time I am.

Georgetown Midwifery/WMNP
Hi everyone, I recently applied to Georgetown's program and I was hoping I could get some input from some people who have already been accepted or have finished the program. I'd like to hear about how the online classes were and also how difficult it was to get clinical placement. I'd also love to hear about what all of your backgrounds were. I'm still finishing my BSN..will be done in December so I don't have any RN experience, but I have worked as a doula for 5 years. Would that be enough? I have a 3.7 and got a great letter of rec from the midwife that I used to work with...but I'm freaking out! :/ Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

need info about marymount's bsn program
Hey, I just started this semester at Marymount and I like it so far. My main complaint is actually just that a few of the classes I'm taking feel a little too easy..but other than that everything seems really good here so far. I also have noticed that a lot of people that got their BSN's here have come back for graduate programs or are working as preceptors for nurses...they all say that this school really prepared them for the real world of nursing so that's a huge comfort to me. I think anyone complaining about this school is just ******** for no reason...so far I haven't had any issues with paperwork..but then again, I follow through on everything and keep copies so that I would never have a real issue. Be prepared and do your **** and life will be a lot easier!!

need info about marymount's bsn program
From what I've heard it's not that bad. Seems like it can be disorganized as far as administration is concerned...but I really don't know of a school that's not. Are you going to accept and attend? Email me if you are! :)

so i can't send direct messages!! so annoying!! i got yours and would like to talk about the area you live in...we're looking for places to live now (bc we'll be moving there by july 1st) and it's sort of hard when you don't know what's a good area and what's not. and i'm totally on the same page as you as far as georgetown...(ie, i think it's a long shot for me too and i wouldn't even go there unless they offered me all kinds of money!) you can email me if you want.. need info about marymount's bsn program
I went to a really big undergrad program too..and i hated it!! i went to uc berkeley..and i always felt like i was drowning in those huge classes. that's my main reason for really wanting to go to marymount because i found somewhere that 50% of their classes are 20 people or less..and i like that it's 75% female...i went to an all girls high school and i miss that type of environment. the thing is i didnt apply for the accelerated program because my grades for my undergrad were really bad (i had a bad boyfriend at the time and i was always going through drama and really just let everything deteriorate) so i applied as a transfer student instead. im really, really excited that i got in...and i think that if you're hearing really good things about the nursing program then that's all im going to worry about. i just sent in my deposit and intent to enroll. let me know when you hear from them!! do you have aim? i'd love to chat about school and the area in general if you do....let me know...

need info about marymount's bsn program
I am applying to Marymount's BSN program as a transfer student for Fall 2011. I was wondering if anyone knew how competitive it is to get into this program? I took the TEAS V and I got an adjusted individual score of 86.7% but my gpa is a little low at 3.1 because of one messed up class..(not a science or anything that's even needed for nursing). Is there anyone out there that has been accepted to this program that can tell me what their grades were and also if they like being at marymount? I'm applying to a bunch of different schools but at at this point I'm liking Marymount the most and I'd love some actual experience and time there to let me know what they think. I'm from California and would love to live so near D.C.
