  2. HELLO...in my experience....i think lantus is one of those insulin that you cant mixed with other insulin. Hope that helps..
  3. Hi AMY, I am also in the same situation as you do, I graduated 12 yrs ago in a foreign country. After i failed the US RN board the first time (1992), im very disappointed, luckily i passed the LPN board instead. Since then ive been working as an LPN. Just last year 2004 when i decided to take the RN board again after waiting 11 years. Im so scared that i will fail again, so i studied all the review books i can get. And also to help raise my confidence, i took the KAPLAN COURSE, which helped me a lot. The computer stopped at 75 questions and i got my result within 1 week....and guess what..I PASSED with flying colors. GOODLUCK to you..remember its not too late.( Have you attended a review class? I think it will help u a whole lot especially that u been out of school for long time.)
  4. Hey Melanie, try KAPLAN REVIEW COURSE , they really good in preparing you for the exam. I took NCLEX for the second time last year after 10 yrs i failed the 1st time. Thats a long time for me being out of school, but the review course helped me a lot to concentrate. I even tried PRINCETON REVIEW BOOK ,that too was definitely given me the edge and confidence....i passed the exam with flying colors.
  5. Try PRINCETON NURSING REVIEW...its really good and its not a standard reviewer u can see from other books. :)
  6. HI.....Im a filipino registered nurse working here in the US....im not a forensic nurse yet but im currently in the middle of my forensic studies. I started last year and hopefully will be finish this year. Im still living here in the USA but if u want to u can email me and if i cant anwer your questions i will ask my advisor about it. GOODLUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I do think that if your not happy with your work especially at this stage...resigning is your only option. You dont want to stay because you feel guilty or something....in the long run it will only affect your performance as a nurse even you tried your best. I did that once...i resigned during my 4th week of orientation, i gave my formal letter of resignation but i didnt show up the rest of my orientation because its not making sense to stay knowing that im leaving and the fact that im still with a preceptor...the director want to know why im leaving..thinking that im doing well and adapting easily. She said that im a good nurse and asking me to give the work another chance. However staying there for almost a month i realized that the unit was not for me and i felt disappointed. I liked the information and valuable lesson i can get from the unit but not meeting my expectations drawn me to chose other options. You see...i do believe that any work we do are not easy..but you have the power to choose an enviroment that less stress...will make you want to get out of your bed and ready to work without hesitation and feeling good about yourself and maintaining self-confidence and respect.
