NYC ED nursing
Hi all! So I know this is a very very broad topic to ask, but I am applying to hospitals in the city and I was hoping to get some insight and guidance. I am a new nurse (1 year and 4 months) coming from a level 1 adult trauma center and I believe our pediatric ED is level 2. I've had the privilege of working in both ED's and absolutely love it. I've always wanted to move to NYC. Before I set this in motion however, I wanted to ask how working in NYC and what are some good locations to work at. I have interviews at NYP and St. Lukes Mt. Sinai. Was also highly considering NYU. I still want to work at an institution where I could become a trauma RN but also have room to grow professionally. How are nurses treated in NY? Ratios? Pay? Education opportunities? I know its very broad but any insight and information is valued and greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Please advise on job prospects. UCLA vs. UC Davis Medical Center New Grad Residency
I am actually in the processes of applying to both. Do you know if they have a cohort in the winter? I graduate with my second bachelors degree in nursing in December (accelerated program) and I'm from Massachusetts. I have a friend in LA and my cousin is stationed in SD. How are the programs in regard to outside applicants, and I know in general California is hard to get into, but it terms of moving and rent which is easier, LA or SD? Im used to NYC and I have no surprises when it comes to expenses for studios or apartments and worse comes to worse I can crash at either place for a little time being ha. Any help or information is immensely appreciated.

Parkland Critical Care and Trauma Internship 2013
Hey everyone, I know it's been awhile. I wanted to ask the people who were accepted into the program about it. Do you guys know if they are going to extend this program into the Spring as well? I am in a second degree bachelors program and we graduate in December. I know it's a long shot and it's probably not available but I can't find any other nurse internships or fellowships like this program. I was hoping anyone one here had any additional informations (such as if there's a program similar to this one that I haven't found yet) and how have you guys enjoyed and learned from the program. Thanks for any info!

Before going to CRNA school

Before going to CRNA school

Before going to CRNA school
Currently in nursing school and graduating in December. Any CRNA's out there that were previously ER/Trauma nurses? Would really like to hear some stories and input about how the route went. Right now I'm looking at starting off in a medsurg floor first, and then hopefully being able to transfer in a level 1 trauma center to be an ER nurse for a couple years. The thought of CRNA school is tickling my mind and I wanted to know what is a good route to go if I also want to incorporate ER training into my life experience. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi, second degree bachelors student here looking to move to NYC or surrounding area in LI and I was looking at SUNY Downstates nurse residency program. Does anyone have any additional information about the hospital and the area? Is it a good place for new grads? How to go about hiring, and how well is their program overall? Thanks for any help!
