  1. At work I have never covered them although my scrub top does the job very well. My inner bicep one peaks out a little. In school they must be covered. No exceptions.
  2. Ah ATI. A friend and a foe. Read the book that you are given that comes from ATI. That is what I do. I always get Level 2's and 3's.
  3. Stethoscope, pen light, pens, shears, memo pad, pocket reference, calculator, notebook paper, some folders, drug book, Nanda book, coban to cover my tats, hand gel, lotion, lipbalm. Stuff like that.
  4. I was told this by a medical doctor: Nursing school is hard because you learn the bulk of what med students learn but in a much shorter time frame. There you go. Once again. That came from a medical doctor.
  5. Nursing is not about the money. If you only work to make money then you will most likely find that nursing is not for you. No nurse is paid enough for the amount of skill and work that is required to do their job.
  6. I graduate from my ADN program in May. I have worked throughout college ( 3 years so far) and at one point I was working two jobs while doing my med surg classes and clinicals. I also commute 90 miles a day to school. I have worked as a nurse tech and now I work in the admitting department in the emergency department which I love and I am becoming very close to the nurses and doctors. Basically I have a job waiting for me when I graduate. I would say do it. Everyone from my school that works as a nurse tech is able to sign a contract with their hospital before they graduate.
  7. My mom gave birth to me in front of a whole class of nursing students. She didn't care haha.
  8. I use a targus bag. It doesn't roll, but it is very big and well padded. Plus it is a good leg workout.
  9. I love ebags=) great site.
  10. Missing isn't good. I have been told by nurses and even doctors that when you are in nursing school, you only miss if you are dying or giving birth.
  11. I am a notebook/pen guy. I only use computers and such when I really need to. Just something about ink and paper helps me to study better.
  12. I start next week too. I am super excited. I worked hard all year with prereqs to get into the program. I am, however, also worried about the stresses and such. I am getting married this weekend so I will have a lot to do throughout school but it will all be worth it=)
  13. I wanted to work in medicine, but I didn't want to spend 80+ hours a week away from my family. I also wanted direct patient contact. Thus I chose nursing=)
  14. You sound like a great nurse. Thumbs up for doing what you believed in!
  15. I loved this post. I pictured people with emails like sexyboy5999 or bigplayer269. It is not hard to make a quality email account.
  16. I am in an ADN program right now and upon graduation, I will find work and then go back for my BSN. I like the ADN route better because you can start work and start making money to help pay for the rest of your school. I also plan on going back for grad school. =)
  17. I think I have to buy a standard set of scrubs for my school. I will find out in next week haha. I like the scrub pants with cargo pockets though so I hope I can wear some of those.
  18. I am 19=) Young blood.
