  1. Still waiting...
  2. I'll be at work tomorrow checking the email/this page frequently.
  3. Good luck everyone!! Let's pray for good news tomorrow!
  4. Ah I did not see that.
  5. I'm thinking they probably will skip interviews altogether assuming potential students are from out of state- town.
  6. I applied as well and have not heard back since I submitted the required materials. I called yesterday and all they said was that they will reach out soon.
  7. Hi, I also applied to the BSN-DNP program at FAU. I was a last minute applicant and Adult/gero was the track that I selected. Hopefully we start to hear back from FAU pretty quickly.
  8. Good thing you emailed them Chili2016 , I was thinking we would find out in December.
  9. Anxiously waiting as well, I hope we all get in.
  10. Hi everyone! I also applied to USF FNP program for Spring 2016! good luck to you all and may we all hear soon from them :)
  11. Congrats to everyone who got in! you're going to love it here!
  12. Good luck to everyone! I hope you receive notifications soon!
  13. @Cookie.Cruz The social life is very good especially since students know they will spend the next two years with their classmates. You will all be divided into your clinical groups in which you will form an even stronger bond. The people in your clinical will be the ones you see almost everyday. Pick your seat wisely the first day of class because many students become fiesty with their seats. There are some classmates that room together, I think that's a great opportunity to be in contact with the nursing community 24/7. Many students carpool because some students will be matched to clinicals that are far away from home. Working during the program is strongly discouraged however, some students work part-time weekends. The program is very overwhelming but definitely not impossible. It's all about time management and setting priorities. If you don't learn/retain material as quickly you may want to study beforehand versus a student who learns information quickly. You will have your classmates that will motivate and encourage you just like you will be there for them. It won't be long until you see them as siblings. I suggest small study groups if everyone is going to study and not gossip/talk about other things. I personally like to study on my own and review with other students and quiz each other. Don't hesitate questions in class or after. There is no such thing as a "stupid" question. The reason why I say this is because professors assume that you know the information and resume with the lecture adding to what was being said before. You guys are going to have so much fun while learning because thee professors are very engaging and knowledgeable.
  14. I'm glad you spent time preparing for your essay! I'm sure you will do great in the classes. Good luck to everyone and if you have any additional questions feel free to ask.
  15. The exam questions are going to be a whole lot different than what you may be used to. The reason why the questions are different is because they prepare you for the NCLEX exam .There is going to be 2 correct answers but one is more correct than the other (if that makes sense). The professors will prepare you for these test. There aim is not to trick you, they simply want to help you succed in the outside nursing world but also help you pass that licensure exam. The professors use powerpoints for there lectures. I print them out prior to going to class because I feel more engaged that way. However, some students opt to take their laptops/tablets and take notes that way. You will power outlets on your desks to connect and charge them and your cellphones. DO record the lectures!! It works for me to listen to them while going through the same powerpoints presented in class. Based on your stats I believe you have a great chance in getting in. The essay is a vital part of the admission process. If you spent time on it and really emphazised that you belong in the program they will definitly see that.
  16. My overall gpa was a 3.75. I LOVE the program!! The professors are great, you learn so much and everything correlates together in all of your classes. I was matched with a clinical convenient for me but there is about 6-7 clinical sites scattered around Tampa/Clearwater/Sarasota area. It may be overwhelming the first couple of weeks prior to your very first exam for each of your classes. It's completely normal many if not all of your classmates will feel that way as well. Once you get through those first exams you will feel better control of where you need to make adjustments as far in your studying habits. In general, the professors are your best resource! they are ready and willing to assist you in any possible way.
  17. I'm currently in my first semester of USF upper division program. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! :)
  18. Congrats on everyone who got accepted into the upper division sequence! I got accepted as well! Look forward to meeting everyone
  19. Congrats! I got accepted as well! yay! add me on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/melissa.marte.18
  20. Good morning Emily, Well typically it's a 3.8+ gpa, however the essay is heavily weighted for the application process. I have a 3.75 gpa.
  21. Hello future nurses! I decided to start a thread for all of those applicants applying for this summer entrance. I'm super excited and motivated! :) Post any of your worries, concerns, and everything else.
  22. Good Afternoon! I'm excited about transferring to a university after completing my associates in arts in pre-nursing. I have successfully completed all my pre-requites, but because I'm transferring early to complete "pathophysiology" I would like to take other classes that can benefit me in the long run. My adviser suggested: Intro to Public health intro to epidemiology medical terminology etc etc For all you nurses out there who have any input it will be greatly appreciated. I would like to take classes that can be of great insight and focus and will better prepare me for the nursing program! thanks!
  23. How was everyone's interview? what questions did they ask? goodluck to those who have interviews this week!
  24. The way I interpret is that there will be 6 (Thursdays) interviews. The way I calculated this, was because during the chat session the advisers said they will be conducting interviews on Thursdays only. Interviews are starting Oct 4 until Thanksgiving. Each of the prospective students being interviewed will be divided into small groups who gather the same qualifications such as GPA. So week 1&2 will be for the the first mentioned tier and so on. To make you feel better ask for your application status. I spoke to a nice lady who told me exactly where I stood, and she told me that I should be receiving my email shortly for the interview.
