  1. heparin induced thrombcytopenia... liver failure, sepsis
  2. dobutamine is used to increased contractility, not increase bp!! it treats chf...
  3. bathroom, coffee pot, crash cart and procedure equipment... in that order.
  4. If you want to do crna, check what the school wants.... not what the traveler says. theyre silly.
  5. everyone has to find what they like. I love ICU, hated ms... its all a matter of personality... I couldnt take it in ER. Think about what you like about nursing, and what you dont. I didnt feel like I had enough bedside time in ms or er, so ICU was perfect for me.
  6. A couple things to add... the bp in the lower ext will depend on other health issues like PVD. Ive used that to adjust pressors in a pinch, but its not optimal. Ca or renal failure keep you from using the upper ext. A Lines are not always available, nor do the Drs always want them in... so you work with what you have. I say know your pt. If you get a higher bp in the lower ext, there is something wrong with that, and its not a good number to titrate by.
  7. yea, probably had nothing to do with the diprovan, and more to do with a cocaine addict unhappy with the hospital life...
