  1. Me too! What a fast five weeks!
  2. Same to you -- I'm also taking a break. I dropped Spring 2 and am waiting to see if I'll be ready for Spring 3. Probably not, but the beauty of this is we can take these kinds of breaks and then drop back in. Good luck to you too!
  3. No kidding! I start a new job this week so I'm frantically finishing up this last one. Five weeks is intense, but the great news is that then it's OVER!!!
  4. Hi, I am currently enrolled and from California. I was accepted for Spring 2013 after a little delay as they figured out the Ohio BRN and CCNE accreditation requirements. Call the admissions office. A friend of mine from CA also got in at the same time. I've been happy with the program so far. Yes, it is a lot of work and no, 100% online learning isn't for everyone. But having the five week sessions is great: they're over before you know it and you can take five weeks off if you're suddenly busy or overwhelmed.
  5. Hi, I think it just takes a while to get the hang of the TA and what he or she wants. The workload is intense, but what they seem to care most about is if you've hit the points on the rubric. Also be careful about your APA formatting. I hope it gets better for you!
  6. Have you tried the heavy duty wipes in the hospital? Or alcohol wipes? That's what I used to clean my white Dansko's. They got very spiffy in both cases.
  7. Hi, Still here! Yes, very fast-paced but the beauty of that is you can see the light! So far things seem well-organized and like koolmaditz says, if you get the hang of it you can manage. How's everyone doing?
  8. Hi, @IonnaRN, I don't see my course in Blackboard yet. From what I understand, it may not show up until our first day. @TRC510, I think you do need 4510 first, but I'm not completely sure. I look forward to seeing you all online! And thanks, @mtsteelhorse, I appreciate the encouragement!
  9. Hi, Wondering if anyone else is enrolled to start January 2013. I'm getting excited but also a little anxious about what the pace will be like. Thought I'd connect with others who are just beginning the OU RN to BSN experience!
  10. Hi, I'm in 4510 for Spring 1 as well! I hope to see you there!
  11. Hi everyone, I was admitted for the Spring 2013. I'm from Cali and have looked at a bunch of online RN to BSN programs. I still think OU is top of my list for a variety of reasons. When you get more information about what this clinical with 4600 requirement is, can you please share with those of us who will be facing it? Thanks!
  12. Hi folks, Thanks for the great input. In answer to one post, I'm currently looking at Ohio University and SUNY Delhi. Both are about $250/unit. I definitely appreciate the difficulty in arranging clinical sites and preceptors. That's pretty daunting to me, but I also appreciate that given the fact that I'm not yet working, it would be a benefit to me in terms of keeping up my skills as well as networking. It's a tough call. I am planning to start in January. I think there is some time to work out the clinical component, i.e., I could take a few courses before needing to get that off the ground -- but it's definitely a big consideration. I have teachers who might agree but will their agencies want to arrange a relationship with me if I'm not even working there?! Great suggestions and advice. Thank you, everyone!
  13. Hi, I'm a new grad ADN looking to start an online RN to BSN very soon. I am debating between two programs, one of which has no clinical component and the other that does. Because I live out of state from the program, arranging the clinical would be up to me. I haven't been hired (yet) so I know this will probably require me to go back to my ADN instructors to see if they can help. I'm willing to do the legwork to get these clinicals arranged but I'm wondering if you think it's really important to have clinical hours as part of my BSN? The school I'm contemplating that doesn't have a clinical component is still very well-regarded. Would love to hear your thoughts! If you elected an RN to BSN without clinicals, what was your reasoning? If you chose one with clinicals, why did you think it was important? Thanks!!!
  14. I've been looking into the online chem classes at Oregon State University: Online Chemistry & Lab Courses -- Online & Distance Degrees -- Oregon State University -- Extended Campus -- Ecampus They are fully-accredited and cost the same for instate and out of state, $248/credit. 10 week quarters gives you a lot of options too! Good luck!
  15. Thanks for letting us know!
