I so agree with you. Many students are reluctant to take responsibility for their own learning and blame anyone but themselves when they dont do well. These students are really difficult to help, because they expect someone other than themselves to do the work of learning.

Actually, it is not our job. The instructor facilitates, but the student is responsible for the learning. Alarmingly, many students have the attitude that it is our job, and those students often do not do well because they do not take responsibility for their own learning.

I have only taken the first one hour class. I start my first course, legal aspects of nursing, or something like that, in March. What did you think about that course? I like the cirriculum. It is truly tailored to the nurse educator. Some of the grad programs have too much extraneous crap not even related to nursing education.

Im not sure I clarified myself. She is working on her PhD in nursing. The student is responsible for doing the actual research and work, but they may hire the statistics or numbers done.

Another thought: My friend is working on her doctorate and they are telling them to hire someone to put together the research. They said that professionals hire it done.

I agree that extensive research doesnt seem to fit into a masters program. I agree that we should be able to find and interpret relevant research, but as far as doing it, no. I believe a project or some other novel approach would be better. Is anyone else doing something besides research or a project?

I am enrolled in university of Indiana online. It is 100% online. It is very reasonable priced per credit hour; the best deal I found and it is NLN approved. The courses are rigorous so it is a good program

I am only taking one course at a time as well. I am torn between education and FNP tracts. I am presently teaching in a junior college, so I know I love teaching, but believe I would like the FNP as well. My school is univ of Indiana online. I am very pleased. It is a great value tuition wise and is NLN accredited. My next course will be theory. Did you write a paper in theory. What kind of assignments did you have? Do you have good advisors?

I agree with many of your points. It only takes one wrong "lift" to alter a nurses career as well. In many cases, our back is our earning potential, especially for nurses who choose to remain at bedside.

I dont see why not. The state of Missouri just requires a masters in nursing. It doesnt specify what area of nursing. I would think a CRNA would be very qualified to teach in a nursing program.

I would love to participate. I am enrolled in an online MSN program. I found one other student who is attending Indiana State Online Nursing Program. Are there any others? Do you know of any good online programs out there? Would like to hear from you. Another question I have is about non thesis options. Does anyone know anything about that? Thanks
