  1. You could always debind your books and then just put the chapters you need for the week in a binder. You can't sell them back to the bookstore but I'm sure another student would buy them off you. Otherwise, a backpack for hiking makes a huge difference.
  2. I think you're making the right choice by going to ivy tech. I just applied for the spring program. I know only a couple hospitals in indy will hire from itt tech or med tech. Also people will tell you that even with all a's and a high teas it's impossible to get in and its just not true. People get b's and still get in. Just make sure they aren't in AnP. Also ivy tech doesn't have a waitlist. You have to reply every term.
  3. I always got together with 2 or 3 other people. We would split up the chapters equally and that person would be responsible for creating an outline including all the objectives. Each person would print out enough copies for each person in the group. Then when we got together that person would "lecture" over their chapter. Then we would answer any questions that we had and go over NCLEX questions. For this to work though you really need to be with those who are serious about understanding the reasoning behind everything. If we weren't all 100% into the study group it wouldn't have been as helpful. Everyone also was expected to read all the chapters on their own, they just didn't have do an outline for every chapter. All-in-all I found helpful for keeping up with all the reading.
  4. I'm already preparing myself for when school starts. I bought a pretty lunch box so I'm more likely to use it, a water bottle to carry around at all times, and prepackaging all my snacks so I don't overeat. I've also stock piled on quick workouts for when I only have 15 or 30 minutes and that I can do anywhere with or without equipment. I have a feeling that once it begins I won't have time for an hour of p90x!
  5. I take it that you are already in your nursing program? or were you talking about prereq's? Anyways, 87 is very competitive for the ADN program. Most scores that I've seen for BSN have been low 90's so not that far off. If you are in the ADN program I would wait. By the time you're done with your program the version could change, they may want recent scores, or what not. Also if you get your ADN and then apply for a bridge program you may not need the score at all. If you are applying for a BSN program I would study for a while and retake it. Just be aware that you may only have 2 or 3 chances to take in a 2 year period.
  6. It really depends on how many points you have. What class did you get a B in? APHY is weighted much heavier than the other prereqs. Also there are less applicants for the Spring and probably less for the LPN/RN bridge. All in all you could have a good chance of getting in.
