  1. Turns out my background check had disappeared and they had to submit a service request to the state police to get it again. Glad I finally called and got things sorted out, I finally get to sit for the NCLEX may 7th. Thanks for the kind words and advice.
  2. That's what I figured, but with this long wait and everyone receiving theirs, it makes my mind wander. Thank you for replying! I'll just sit on my hands and be patient!
  3. Hello all, I'm hoping you someone can shed some light on my situation. I have recently graduated nursing school (in michigan) and also have obtained my green card (Canadian citizen). The school I graduated from has never dealt with any international students, and has not been very helpful with the process. I have applied for my ATT, and my school has sent all of paperwork and transcripts to the state board. This is where I'm worried, my entire class has received their ATT's, and I'm still waiting on mine. I have this anxiety that some step has been missed and it will be ages before I can get some communication with the board. I have tried to do some research and can't find out any extra steps that should have been taken other than a "visa screen" although I'm not sure if it applies to me because I already have a green card. Am am I being to anxious? And need to be patient? Or is there a blaring step I have completely missed? thanks in advance!
  4. auryn24: Hurricane Katrina update #1 I know this was a long time ago but her is the link to the blog.
  5. Mine requires an 84%, or fail.
  6. Micro changed my life, ha!
  7. Is there any way someone could email these to me? I can't open the attachment, I haven't been able to confirm my account after multiple attempts of contact to allnurses. These would be so valuable!!
  8. I had a 3.9 GPA and applied to the program with 92 pts at the Owosso campus. Cut off this year for Owosso was 84-95 pts, if you don't get in you get an extra point when you reapply (1 time). I can't give you advice about the program because u start this semester. My advice it to score good on the Kaplan, that seems to really set people above the rest. There is plenty of threads on the Kaplan entrance exam, study hard!
  9. I'm 24, been Rollin around with one for two years! No way in he@@ I'd try and hike my books on my back, that would be crazy!
  10. How did you find out your ranking?
  11. Exactly what the PP said. I've also hear a few bad things about Baker, but mostly from disgruntled students on the Internet, never from people that I've talked to face to face. Mostly, I've heard people upset and hurt they haven't made it into the program, and that there credits don't transfer out. My experience has been great, I've also had my fair share of health problem, the school has bent over backwards to help accommodate me. Take the Internet slander with a grain assault, go to the campus, talk to students in/out if the program. Not to often do people come on to praise a school online, more to vent anger from situations. I know baker of Owosso is NLNAC accredited, it also has the bridge from ADN to BSN. I don't know about other schools, I can only vouch for my campus. Every program is going to be ridiculous to get into, you either wait...or dig deep. Only you can answer what school best fits you, good luck!!
  12. Hahahaha I loved the "borrowed" pens/pencils idea. You'd think this far in life people would learn to become prepared to class, nope! I only use those sharpie pens, they are the best for long lecture classes, but a damper on the wallet. After many "borrowed" brand new sharpie pens later, I give away cheap pens now! I wish I could keep a emergency kit, but I would dip into it all the time..making it a not so emergency kit....lol
  13. For what it's worth, I purchased a blue tooth keyboard via EBay for $23.
  14. There is a post floating around here that is titled "why are nurses mean to each other" there's a few posts on here that show perfect examples of it. Whether student or nurse, most come here for advice and positive reinforcement, many don't have people at home that can relate. Taking two steps back after a post and implying that the OP should gain a sense of humor is a joke in itself. I'd say go home and kick your dog-but I'm an animal enthusiast (that's right ENTHUSIAST!), so find another way to vent your anger. OP- thanks for your advice, I've already downloaded your suggested program and began to test it out. Glad you had such an amazing day and I hope you continue to pee rainbows and sparkles the rest of NS, your enthusiasm will be infectious! High five everyone!!!
