  1. Run to the hospital because your work load will be lighter and also less stressful, I know first hand that the Nursing home will wear you down and totally stress you out. Because your automatically a charge nurse, and having deal with families complaints and lazy Cna's, trusted me the extra $5 bucks an hr is NOT worth your insanity!
  2. Hey Natalie!......I truly understand your frustration, but LPN's are not being phased out. However, we are being hand picked for certains positions. It is up to you to sale yourself on your interviews. I graduated Practical Nursing School in December 2006, I worked full time for a Homehealth agency, three Nursing Homes and PRN for a well known Rehab hospital located here in Atlanta. I juggled myself around until September 2009 until I finally:) landed a great position at Davita Dialysis. My manager later told me that she was impressed with the way I interviewed.
  3. I can honestly relate to the cartoon.......after 14 hours shifts in Dialysis, I feel like the weight of the patients and some teammates are literally pulling me down.
  4. OMG!......I know your pain! I had that same problem in Atlanta. I passed boards in December 2006 and did not land a real job until September 2009.....Davita Dialysis gave me my big break. Try applying with a clinic in person or online, Davita is willing to train and the pay is great for a new grad.
  5. Hello Jvd!....Are in the process of enrolling in Virginia College?
  6. HELLO!...I have licenses in two different states. Alabama and Georgia. Alabama requires 24 CEU's every 2yrs for license renewal and for Georgia where I lived, I ONLY have to pay a renewal fee of $85.00 every 2yrs. My understanding is there is no limit on the number of licenses a nurse could hold at one time, as long as he/she does what each states requires. GOOD LUCK!
