  1. I just received a call yesterday for an interview. I'm very interested in LnD, but being so excited to just be called I forgot to ask what unit it was for. Has anyone else been called??
  2. I don't know why she would tell me that either, I'm just going by what she said.
  3. I don't think this is true. I called to ask why the posting was gone and the person I spoke with told me that it closed early Friday (which I know she was lying about since I tried to do it Thursday night) and said that OVER 2000 PEOPLE APPLIED. That's insane!
  4. I started the application on Monday but wanted time to write the responses and I just went to try to apply and I can't find the job posting-- did they take it down early??
  5. Hey everyone, Just curious to what some of your goals for professional development are/were when you started as a new grad? I was thinking some of mine would definitely be skill mastery and utilizing and expanding my critical thinking. Anyone have anything different they'd like to share?
  6. I called today- I wasn't able to directly talk to the recruiter so I left her a message. Hopefully She calls me back!
  7. I still haven't heard anything either. I'm wondering if I should call soon and see whats going on? Also, is there a way to check the status online? I didn't save the online req and it's not in my emails.
  8. Congrats! That's amazing! Good luck!
  9. Thanks so much for sharing, especially since it's already so competitive!
  10. I searched for the app- has it already closed??? I couldn't find anything
  11. Hi, sorry I can't help with the questions you asked- but curious if this is for their new grad program??
  12. Project heartbeat in Oakland is really good. I know it's not the North bay but its definitely worth the drive
  13. Thanks for sharing!!! I'm nervous too!! I really want to interview for LnD but anything maternal health would be fine with me!! What about you??
  14. I noticed that they had taken it down early! It was supposed to go through Oct. 9. My status has changed to "Thank you for your interest in Georgetown University Hospital. We are currently reviewing your resume. Those candidates whose qualifications most closely match the needs of the department will be contacted directly for an interview. Thank you once again for your interest in Georgetown University Hospital." I'm debating whether or not to call to ask when we should be hearing. I thought it said online that if we did move on to the next round we would need to send in our packets by October 28th or something? If that's true I'm afraid that I haven't moved on since I feel they would want to give us as much time as possible to get that to them. Does a anyone else remember what it said about the packet? I should have copied the text from the online req!
  15. I was just wondering the same thing! I still haven't heard anything... I thought they did a pretty good job at giving a timeline for their application- but the waiting game still sucks!
  16. I would say that if you got to the battery then you're eligible to apply. The battery I'm pretty sure is sent to you if your resume passes a scan by the computer- so if you got it then you should be okay. I don't think an actual personal person has even looked at our resume/cl yet.
  17. I still haven't heard so I'm hoping they're just waiting for more people too. I graduated in May- it's so frustrating trying to find a job!
  18. bbailey: I got countless rejection emails from them as well so I called because I felt that I was a very qualified candidate. They told me that they have a grant that requires them to basically only choose those who attended school in the Sacramento area. Because they legally can't exclude anyone from applying, they made it open to everyone. But really anyone who applied from out of area was just applying in vain. Super frustrating.

  20. Hey everyone! Just wanted to start this for the Winter 2013 new grad program at Georgetown University Hospital. I submitted my application and was invited to take the battery which I completed on Wednesday. Has anyone heard further from them? Or know how many positions or people applying? I'm super interested in the program but it's been so discouraging lately!
  21. Thank you!
  22. Thank you both! I already have NRP and ACLS- going for PALS soon although I'm not really sure that I need it. Is the AWHONN class something I'll be able to put on my resume? Thanks again!
  23. Hi Everyone, I'm a new grad, and as many of you can guess I'm having a hard time finding a job right now. I did my preceptorship in Labor and Delivery and am trying to do anything I can to make myself standout in a crowd. I'd like to get a certification in fetal monitoring but I'm having trouble finding things online. I've found somethings where it's a class you take- but I don't think they give actual certifications. Does anyone know where there are classes located around the SF Bay Area or online classes that offer this? Thank you so much!
  24. Sorry, the bay area is the San Francisco bay area in California. Secondly, correct I do not have any experice so technically no real speciality- however labor and delivery is we're I completed over 300 hours and what I chose to do my last senior rotation in. I have the most training in that area. Thanks for your response.
