  1. I've never been told to obstain fro ETOH 72 hours prior. Last time I had mine checked I had 2 glasses of wine the night before but it was 12 hours before my test as instruted. I don't think it raised my triglycerides sine my level was only 44.
  2. The first hospital i worked at would occasionally call people off due to low census but they would call everyone and ask for you to volunteer for that and ussually they would find someone who wanted the day off but they never expected you to be on call unless they gave you on call pay. Only one time was I mandated off and that ws on Christmas and no one volunteered. Then the next hospital I went to work for would mandate the person with the lowest senority off work so I was being called to stay home more than 50% of my scheduled shifts. Another nurse told me if I just hang in there for a couple years I won't be called off anymore. I said I think my kids might want to eat before then. Anyway I quit that job after about 6 weeks, I couldn't handle that. This hospital was a union hospital. Really haven't had that problem since leaving there but have done different types of nursing.
  3. Any one work for armor correctional health services in florida? I just applied for a job with them at a county jail. I have never worked in correctons but thought I would try PRN and see if I like it. Does anyone have an idea of what the pay is and what kind of interview questions to expect.
  4. I worked agency for a while and a couple times I accepted an asignment only to find out that I was being put somewhere else I didn't feel comfortble at. Once they even asked me to go to one floor I said no, they called back and said the hospital was going too float one of their empoyees to that floor if I could go to another, I accepted as I felt comfortable in that area and then when I got there they sent me to the one I turned down. I said I had told my agency I wouldn't go there they wouldn't put me where I was supposed to be I called my agency. anyway It was a big mess I ended up staying which I shouldn't have done made it through the night and quit the next day! I'm not sure who lied my agency or the facility but needless to say that was the end for me.
  5. Yes, get an attorney ASAP but you must go to any appointments with heathcare recovery. I would also file a complaint against the doctor who reported you clearly he has issues. What a horrible thing this doctor has done to you. He should not be a medical review officer.
  6. Well was it one of those rabit vibraters? Just kidding!
  7. :nono:Whats really scarry is they were given foster children, ya gota wonder!
  8. Where I sed to work we hd protacols for this labs were jst BS, UA, HCG really only labs we ran ourselves any other had to be ordered by the doc. We could order x-rays on extremities only and of course give tylenol and motrin.
  9. Ok this is really a very simple math question a gallon=128 oz. a pound is 16 oz. 128/16=8
  10. All i can say is I can't wait untill the US has a wonderful system like that in place. My vote in the next elelction wll certainly go to the canidate who will fight for universal health care. And I'm so thankful to everyone including MM who are willing to tell the truth, even at the risk of being called unpatriotic.
  11. I don't agree most are overcrowed and while anyone without health insurance who doesn't pay their bill affects the bottom line their are more consequences for people with social security cards since their credit will be affected. Wouldn't it be nice to walk in to an er with no id and get treated and not even get a bill since no id or soc no consequences. And how about subsidizing a hospital directly accross the boarder where the can be taken when stable enough or sent to for their cold and sorethroats. I'm sorry but when I see my fellow Americans with no medical care and hospitals going bankrupt caring for illegal who in my experience don't wait to get care but use the ER as a primary, while American who generally pay ther bill will wait becuse they can't afford it. Americans who don't pay there bills also don't wait and use ER as a primary but I would still rather my dollars help our own just as I feed my own family before I give to others.
  12. I would prefer fruit or veggies
  13. I gave my child the medicine 4x a day for 10 days but there is still some left in the bottle what do I do? Migraine via ambulance. I need a sonogram to find out how far along I am I have a cold that started a couple hours ago I fell and want to get checkout. Do you have pain anywhere? No I have have a cut and need a doctors note for work tomorrow because thats what my wok requires if i'm off. Cut net even worthy of a paper cut no work note.
  14. first 24-48 hours ice a strain after that heat helps, and of course if you're stuck in a snow storm they're great too! lol
  15. You need legal advise not nursing advise but as far as claiming to be a victim don't even go there. Is every one who does something illegal a victim? I'm sure every one in jail could make that argument. I'll tell you when I was 19 seven months pregnant I got a repair and report ticket a tail light was out on my car. I was very busy in school pregnant and didn't go back to have it checked. I thought it wasn't a big deal. the police got me out of bed a 12:30 am and threw me in jail and personaly I think a tail light is not as big of a deal as being here illegally especially considering the current threats of terorisim. I'm not suggesting you are a terrorist but illegals could be!
