  1. Hi Momma1RN, I just accepted a job offer with an insurance company a few days ago for WAH CM position. I too do not have a lot of experience in CM. I only have med surg and SANE experience so this is a whole new experience for me. I was told that I would have a preceptor for 3wks and then be completely independent after 90days so this gave me a piece of mind to know I'm not figuring things out on my own. I know you were looking for someone who is already working the position but I hope this some what helped that its possible to transition into this role with little to no experience.
  2. Thank you and good luck to you as well.
  3. GU does clinical placement if I can remember but GWU doesn't. I already paid the admission for Simmons so no turning back now lol.
  4. I applied to GU and didn't get in because I did everything at the last minute for the deadline. I also applied to GWU and Simmons at the same time. Still waiting for GW since I applied for Spring 18. When I compared GW and Simmons, they weren't too different as far as cost and the deal breaker for me was the live class and placement. GW don't do neither and placement was something I didn't want to stress about. Only you know which school will best for you whichever way you go because it would be what works best for you so take your time.
  5. I was accepted to Simmons November cohort and have to do the bio bridge course in September. For those took the bridge in May, how was it? What should I be prepared for? Congrats to all who were accepted and good luck to all who have applied.
  6. Ok I understand. I also applied to one other school but probably will not hear from them any time soon because it was for the Spr18 semester. That school do not find placement. I just did my new student orientation yesterday and it wasn't bad. They just wanted make sure your connection was functioning properly and also information on all the resources Simmons have to offer. I get more and more excited about this journey. Good luck with your decision.
  7. Yes, I'm still in denial about this refresher cost. But I have to keep telling myself that it will all pay off in the end. One of the many reasons I chose Simmons is because of the live lectures so at least I can get immediate feedback if I should have a question about the content. They also find your clinical placement which other schools don't. I don't know your situation but I hope choose Simmons so I can say hey I know her! Lol jk. We could possibly start a group if there's not one already so we can get to know others for our upcoming cohort and bridge course.
  8. Have you decided on the school to attend yet?
  9. Thank you and congratulations to you as well. Yes, I have to do the statistics and health assessment refresher too. I'm going to call them tomorrow to get more guidance on these refreshers as far as cost and such. What is holding back your decision if you don't mind me asking?
  10. Hello to all, Not sure if there is another thread for this as yet (didn't check) but I found out I was accepted to Simmons for the November Cohort. I applied to the September cohort but have to take the bio bridge course first which will put me in the November start date. If there's anyone else in the same situation maybe we can create a FB group to keep in touch and support each other. Looking forward to this journey!
  11. No still waiting. I'm going to call today hopefully to hear something because this is becoming very discouraging.
  12. I'm sorry you did not get in what schools are you looking at now if you don't mind me asking? I felt the same about the interview process. I know I did horrible and didn't say what I wanted because I was too nervous.
  13. I know this is an old post but I just wanted to see how you are liking the program? I applied and currently in the waiting process. It's been about a week now and hope not too much longer to find out.
  14. Following. Sorry you're hating your job. I'm currently looking into Per Diem work with an agency and looking hear some feedback from current agency nurses.
  15. This article was super helpful as I am currently looking into agency nursing to work per diem for the flexibility it offers. I will definitely pay attention to what the agreements are within an agency should I want to change my employment status.
