I want to go back to school
Hi everyone! This is my first post in this forum. I self-reported for diversion a few months back and will enter my states recovery nurse program soon. I am aware of most of the things I won't be allowed to do until I finish the program (5 years). Will I be allowed to enroll in school? I want to start working on my MSN. Thanks everyone!

Yo night nurses
Thanks so much! Napping before a night shift sounds much better to me than just staying up all night every night. Your tips are much-appreciated :)

Yo night nurses
Tomorrow I'm working my first night shift (7p-7a). I'm trying to stay up tonight to make tomorrow easier. I'm not sure yet how I'll adjust to having my work and sleep schedule upside down. Do you stay up at night even on days you're not working? I have noooooo idea what to do with this many hours by myself at home if I stay up. I get bored at night. How will I adjust???

Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty (for non-RNs) MSN 2013
I see that the website says that non-RN students must be in Nashville for the pre-specialty year. But if I am graduating nursing school in May I will be an RN. So I'm not sure if I am required to relocate or not. I emailed ******* to find out more.

Congrats @worth11! @vandydani They sent out letters for some of the specialties, and some of the specialty applicants are still under review. Did you get an email from Vandy recently?

New Grad Resume question
Hello all! I'm getting ready to apply for my first RN job ever. I'm working on my resume and it looks good right now but I want to make it stand out in a positive light. I've been reading about people using "branding statements" on their resumes in lieu of objectives. I just keep coming across a lot of articles saying that job objectives are somewhat old-fashioned. Also, I'm pretty sure that every nursing student I graduate with will have an objective similar to mine. I want my resume to be unique like me. Any thoughts or tips are greatly appreciated!!!

Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty (for non-RNs) MSN 2013
When I check my application status online it says "Thank you for your application for graduate study at Vanderbilt University. We will contact you when we have completed the review." Does anyone see a different message when they check theirs??

Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty (for non-RNs) MSN 2013
I got my financial aid "packet" too. Just 2 sheets of paper and one saying that I will get more financial aid info sent to my email. I guess they encourage everybody to have their FAFSA done and out of the way before we find out if we're admitted. I completed my FAFSA a few days ago. I always fill it out as soon as I've finished filing my tax return. The tone of the financial aid packet seemed like they want us to start getting used to the fact that Vandy is so expensive, so it's probably better to start considering the financial aspect ASAP. I know that I have to make sure that I have all my financial aid figured out before I find out if I get in, because if I'm accepted and have to pay my admission deposit I want to know if I can definitely afford to attend there. Congrats to those of you that got into Columbia!!!

Military Nursing Questions Answered
I will graduate with my ADN in just a few months and I have already been accepted into an MSN program to start immediately after graduation. Will I still be considered if I am enrolled in a higher degree program?

Qualifications for military nurse
Thank you for your reply. I noticed that your link said that most branches require a BSN. When I've looked on my own at the official websites I did not see that BSN is a minimum requirement. I will graduate with my ADN in just a few months and I have already been accepted into an MSN program to start immediately after graduation. Will I still be considered if I am enrolled in a higher degree program?

AABC Birth Center Workshop question for current Frontier students.....
This is exciting to hear! I want to go on to study Midwifery after I graduate with my ADN, and I am a big supporter of birth centers and home birth. It's very nice to know that Frontier's curriculum includes so much about operating a BC. Another reason I'll apply there :)

give up or keep looking?
Try contacting someone at Frontier Nursing University and ask if they know of any online classes that will fulfill that requirement. They are an online/distance learning school and might be familiar with schools that offer prerequisites. Even if that school isn't your first choice, they might be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck and don't give up :)
